The first night of the Chris Bosh-Jermaine O'Neal experiment worked to perfection for Toronto, which got a combined 44 points and 19 rebounds from its high-priced frontcourt en route to a 95-84 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. The Golden State Warriors will have no answer for these two studs inside tonight. The Warriors got worse in the off-season by trading away Baron Davis. They also are playing without Monta Ellis right now, who is clearly their best scorer, as Ellis is out indefinitely with an ankle injury. The Raptors have a great compliment of guards who can knock down the 3-point shot to take pressure off Bosh and O'Neal on the inside. This is a great match-up for the Raptors as they look to start the season 2-0 with a blowout win tonight.

Reasons why the Spurs cover the spread Friday:

1.) San Antonio will not lose 2 straight games to start the season. The Spurs are still a very good team, and it took a come-from-behind win by the Phoenix Suns in the 4th quarter for San Antonio to lose their opener. Now the Spurs play a depleted Portland Trail Blazers team tonight that has had terrible success against the Spurs as of late.

2.) Portland is without Greg Oden. Tim Duncan will have a field day in the middle now that Oden is sidelined with a foot injury. The Blazers don�t have the manpower inside to slow down the Spurs.

3.) San Antonio is 7-0 in all games against the Blazers over the last 3 seasons. The Spurs are 17-8 in their last 25 road meetings against the Blazers as well. Portland doesn�t have an answer for this veteran San Antonio squad and they won�t magically find the answer in their second game of the season tonight. Bet the Spurs on the road.
