The Western Conference enters this game with injuries, as both last years’ starters Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul missing this game due to injury. Getting the start for the West will be Carmelo Anthony, Tim Duncan, Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire. Guards Jason Kidd, Deron Williams or Chauncey Billups will start in place of injured Kobe Bryant. George Karl will be the head coach for the Western Conference. Notable reserves for the West are Pau Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki who both can bring scoring. The East will feature starter’s Lebron James, Kevin Garnett, Dwayne Wade and Dwight Howard. In place of Iverson in the starting lineup will be either guards Joe Johnson, Rajon Rondo or Derrick Rose. The East will have 5 first time All Starts in this game. Notable scoring off the bench will come from Paul Pierce and Chris Bosh.
The East is fresher, younger and simply more talented. On top of that they have balance. They can score from anywhere on the court and nobody on the roster is a question mark now that Allen Iverson has stepped aside due to injury.

Honestly do you think it matters who has more talent in a game like this? The east may have a bit more talent but its pretty close. Both teams will get plenty of layups and easy points. It's going to come down to who hits the higher % of jumpshots. Neither side plays defense thats why the total is 260+.
