Amare to DC or NY?

ESPN (New York) Radio's Brandon Tierney had Amare Stoudemire on this morning and reiterated remarks about his desire to play for Mike D'Antoni in 2010 while boasting about being better than Chris Bosh. Stoudemire told The Post similar stuff during All-Star Weekend.

When asked Stoudemire if he's better than Bosh, the Suns forward said, "Oooh man, are you kidding me? Ask Chris Bosh that question."

So that's a yes?

"No doubt about it, I'm better than Chris Bosh"

"How serious will you consider the New York Knicks in 2010"?

"I will be totally serious about that, I spent a lot of my childhood there, I have a connection with the state, and I also love the entire coaching staff.

" I think Coach D'Antoni's doing a phenomenal job with the Knicks, NY's a great city, I follow them closely." -- New York Post

# "Um, I love D.C., quote, end quote," Stoudemire said, eliciting oohs and ahhs and a follow-up question about how he sounded interested by this prospect. His answer?

"I love D.C, quote, end quote," he repeated.

"I'm going into my eighth year in the NBA, and it's time for a championship," he said moments later. Joking aside, he was asked how far away the Wiz were from contending for one of them trophy things.

"You might just be a No. 1 jersey away," he said. -- The Washington Post

# To acquire Stoudemire, the Wizards would have to ship out one of their three All-Stars, the No. 5 pick and possibly an expiring contract.

But before you get excited, I'm told Stoudemire to the Wizards "has no legs," according to a knowledgeable source, who also adds that the Suns haven't even contacted Washington as a potential trade partner to rid themselves of Stoudemire. -- The Washington Times

# From February trade discussions to his ability to opt out from his Suns contract next summer, Stoudemire heard inquiries about his future in every NBA market that interviewed him on Friday.

To a San Antonio TV station, "What are you trying to start a riot in Phoenix?" before adding, "You never know what will happen. If I'm not going to win a championship soon, I may have to part ways."

To one in Atlanta, where he just visited, "They would love for me to be in Atlanta," but adding, "I still should be in Phoenix next season."

He said he heard it most from New York and Chicago, telling a Chicago station, "Whatever team I go to, I hope they're ready for a championship run." -- The Arizona Republic
