Avery Johnson has been fired as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks after a first round playoff loss to the New Orleans Hornets, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

I just seen the other thread you posted from SI that said D'Aantoni will not return as head coach for the suns. two great coaches out, the bulls would be luckey to get one of them. I think I also did hear something that Miami's coach has left as well.

Be carefule what you boys ask for - Avery is an old school (Drill Sgt/Micro manager) coach. That doesn't work these days....

i think it's 3 years now i've said both these coaches are disasters

d'antoni? has any coach had more talent and done less? not one conference championship in all those 50 win seasons. he is utterly clueless as a coach. argue all you want, the guy cannot win playoffs because he never wanted to teach his team defense. let's run and gun and lose every playoff game!

johnson? harder to argue, but another loser. got to the finals, winning, then loses 4 straight. then the next year has the best record and completely ****s up the playoffs, benching players to rest and then getting overwhelmed. this year, same shit. guy cannot motivate his squad and has an especially big problem with dirk

after all these years of dissing d'antoni i suddenly realized the asswad will probably end up in my town of chicago. ultimate nightmare
