deron williams has an all-star power forward. he'd shit himself if he woke up tomorrow and had to play the rest of his career with rose's cast

athletically there's no PG on rose's level in the nba.

compare rose and williams first 2 seasons. williams averaged not even 11 points a game as a rookie to rose's 17 and under 5 assists a game to rose's 6.3.

2nd season williams had 9 assists a game to rose's 6, will give him that, but again that's where having 2 well rounded scorers in kirilenko and boozer come in

give rose one all-star and he'll average a double double, he's that good. this isn't the chicago in me talking, just my assessment of an athlete

i didn't say rose was better than williams, i would say wiliams is 3a to rose being 3b, but i am also factoring in williams supporting cast. williams is not one-dimensional by any means but he cant create off the dribble the way rose can, isn't a quarter as quick as rose, half as athletic as rose, and with rose's shot coming along he'll be in everyone's top 3 by 2012

i appreciate assists and everything believe me, but in all fairness he plays on a team where besides him, the leading scorer is LUOL DENG with 17 a game and after him kirk and NOAH at just over 10 a game each. deplorable

Westcoast you make good point about Rose and I agree with most of it except for the assists. I don't see Rose ever approaching 10 assists a game, it's just not in his nature to pass that much. He's a scoring point guard who can get to the rim at will. More talent around him will help, but the only numbers I see improving for him will be his ppg an shooting percentages once he gets himself a jumpshot.

1. D. Williams
2. S. Nash
3. C. Paul
4. D. Rose
5. C. Billups
6. Rondo

Deron is great, I just dont like him for personal reasons, not his game

stems from the 2005 elite 8 game played in Illinois, where my Arizona Wildcats got robbed

Illinois made a nice comeback, but truth be told the refs swallowed their whistles, for like 2 of those "miraculous " steals Arizona was up 10 with 3 to play....Some refs can be easily "emotionally" influenced by a crowd...

i know most view him as score-first but he really does have a lot of natural point guard tendencies. if you watch a lot of bulls games you'll always hear a mention of how some in chicago are critical of rose not wanting to take the game over offensively and too often trying to go the route of "point guard"

he's definitely a scoring PG no doubt about that but so is paul, williams and billups and all 3 of them are capable of double digit assists obv. the reason i rank paul 1st is because he got his dimes with the worst supporting cast of the 3 names i mentioned which i find amazing.

i think once rose gets older he'll know exactly when to assert himself and when to differ. i think if you're a basketball fan though you definitely gotta love it because these guys are all different breeds (for the most part) of point guards in the NBA.

i'm obviously a little biased because i have been following rose since he was in high school but i just genuinely think he's talented and athletic enough that he can do literally anything he wants with the ball in his hands. if he gets a 20-25 PPG guy on the same team as him i really think he'll be a walking double double.
