Blazers

I've had this game marked for awhile now, especially if the Blazers tanked their first home game back against a deceptively decent Kings team (which they did). The Blazers have just been through a grueling series of road contests which included playing two games without Brandon Roy. Not to mention in four of those contests Roy was matched up with Artest, Battier and LeBron; he has yet to master playing against physical two guards who can play defense. This is important when you consider that he has taken over several games in the fourth quarter. The Blazers have gone from being no-where to being well into the playoffs to once again being on the outside looking in. They are young but they have talent. At number ten in the standings and three games out, this team needs to turn it around and quick. The Blazers are in no position to take this game likely. Moreover, unlike previous opportunities against far better defensive teams, they should be able to take advantage of a defensively limited seattle squad who should be happy about winning their last game at home after being down at the break. Even if Roy does not play, this Portland team should have plenty to prove tonight having lost twice with Roy out of the lineup. As far as Seattle goes, make no mistake, Wally (nearly 15 ppg/ in 25 mpg since dec) has been a much needed offensive fireplug for the last couple months. He will be missed on the offensive end. Thomas, is a sound defender and he will also be missed. Honestly, I just don't see Portland laying another egg tonight when they remain in playoff contention and need to get going again.

As a note on the side, especially if roy is out, but regardless, the under seems to be a strong play here as well. Portland is not memphis, and wally will be missed on the offensive end for sure tonight.
