Cappersmall 2008-2009 NBA Bankroll contest! Rules + Registration

Jack has given me the green light to run a contest for those of us keen on wagering on the NBA.

While its not compulsory to register, it would be appreciated to get an Idea of numbers. If you want to play say so In this thread please.

Basic rundown

This competition is open to all Cappersmall members.

How it will work is for every day there is NBA I will create a thread (or anyone else can If I'm not around) for you to post your selections.
Options will Include ML's, points and totals.
Bet Jamaica odds will be used only and you must have an account with Bet Jamaica to play! If you don't already, open one for free today :

You must have an account to play and account must be opened prior to contest beginning.
http://www.betjm.com/default.aspx?ZID=N577

It is your task to come up with as many winners as you can throughout.
The competition starts Wednesday October 29 and will run through to the allstar break.

One thing I think is Important in betting competitions is to have them as close to real life wagering as possible. This will improve you as a capper have you learning and hopefully get you into good habits, If u aren't already.

Rules and how it will work

The deadline for posting on each game is the gametime of each game.

If your pick/s is/are posted after the closing time eg. the gametime of the game u are wagering on then your pick for that game will be void. Please don't edit posts just add the game/s in a new post! If you edit your post all picks in that thread will be void.

New players can join right up until November 18 of this competition

Once November 18 is past no new contestants can join.

You can rank your picks 1-5 units Inclusive. If not stated the default unit value will be 1 unit. You may have one, 1 unit pick per day. One 2 unit pick. One 3 unit pick. One 4 unit pick and one 5 unit pick.

The standings will work on an imaginary units won method so for example 4-0 will be better than say 2-0 (If they had similar prices) even tho both are hitting at 100%.

You can make a maximum of 5 picks per day. If u exceed the 5 picks per day your 6th pick onwards will be void and your first five picks will count. The only minimum requirement is 50 picks throughout the contest to be eligable for the prizes.

Scoring.....please note you are in charge of your own scoring. There will be a standings thread where you are expected to update your standing, Ideally everyday, at least every few days. At the end of the contest those who finish in the prizes will have their scores checked to make sure they are correct.

Scoring will work so for every 1 unit that wins you get +1 unit to your score If the price was -110. For every 1 unit that losses you get
-1.1 unit to your score. A ML pick of -150 for example If it wins u would get +1 unit. If it were to lose u would get -1.5 units (per unit bet).
A ML dog of say +150 If it were to lose u would get -1 unit. If it were to win u would get +1.5 units.

On the last week of the competition you may not pass, anyone passing on the last week will be out no exceptions!

Prizes

TBA soon

Under the event two or more people are tied, it will be the person with the best record (most units won) on the final week. The next tiebreaker is most amount of plays would finish first. If still tied it will be a coin toss which I will do (honestly I promise lol). If by chance I am involved in coin toss Dr Jack shall perform it.

It may all sound technical but it will be simple to play once we get going.

Lets have some fun and may the best man or woman win!

Any questions post in here......and If u want in say so here, not compulsory but would be appreciated.

Cheers
Dave

I'm in.

Very very simple rules and scoring make the best contests.

The scoring method seems like it will cause problems to me...just my opinion.

I agree to an extent. But is the scoring system really that difficult to understand?
For every one unit bet on a -110 line you lose 1.1 if it loses and win 1 if it wins.
For every 2 unit you lose 2.2 and win 2....for every 3 unit you lose 3.3 and win 3 and so on.

For every say +150 dog you win 1.5 if it wins and lose 1 if it loses.
As long as everyone has that guideline in their heads, scoring shouldn't be a problem.
Initially some may find it challenging, but hopefully as we go on people get used to it.

I don't understand the reasoning.

All of my wagers can be 4 units..but one can be for 5 units?

What is the significance of that?

Usually you would allow the one best bet or lock to be multiples of the other bets...here it would just be 25% more than a regular wager. Why bother?

I appreciate your efforts here...not trying to bust balls...just have questions.

I have thought about this and agree limting to one 5 unit per day does complicate things.
Going to change it....you still have 5 plays max per day but now you can have as many 5 unit selections as you want in a day.
