I agree. Very poor trade IMO. That team needs more than one person to improve that team. I wonder how he feels about the trade?

Don't like the league and Stern dictating trades..........this whole thing was bullshit. Stern ****ed the Clippers to their knees on this deal. Should've at least got to keep the draft pick....

I dont get how all of you think that this trade was bad for the Clippers? You pick up arguably the best point guard in the game, you picked up C. Butler, resigned D. Jordan, got B. Griffin comin back and C. Billups (who may be old, but I feel will be a great player off the bench for LA). If you are a Clippers fan this is the first time in a while you guys can actually say you can compete with the Lakers and have the playoffs on your mind. Don't forget how tough Chris Paul played the Lakers last year in the playoffs (not to mention not having David West) he outplayed Kobe in that series. You have to give credit where credit is due. For the first time in history the Clippers organization is actually making moves to improve there team and not just sitting back and watching everyone else. Dont forget you finished 32-50 last year, the Clippers know what there doing and for the first time free agents are gonna desire to come and play for them. Great move imo.

Your wrong FTP. Clips gave up too much. Eric Gordon is an up and coming player, plus you can guarantee a top 5 pick this year, most likely a top 3 pick for a guy they get for 2 years. I understand the West is for the taking right now, but that price was steep.

The only reason I think the Clips had to try and make the deal was to keep Griffin in LA. They need to put a winner on the court and another star to keep him there. This better work because after 2 years if Paul leaves this team is Fawked!!

You just said it yourself though. If the Clippers had a better SG and perhaps a bit better of a bench this would be a VERY good team (would compete for the West every year). They are a couple of moves away from being where they want to be, I'm sure the Clippers have a long term plan of what they are trying to do. You can't expect one of the worst NBA associations EVER to be a championship team in one season.

No but you cannot expect the worst organization and owner in the NBA (Gilbert has in now actually)to have a good long term plan either. I like the Clippers, not my favorite team, but I would definitely like to see then do well, but in no way would I have faith in that ownership to have a good plan.

I get where you are coming from but I just do not see how Clipper's fans are not happy with this move.. Is Gordon better than Paul? No. Paul is worth a lot more than people give him credit for, obviously the Lakers know what I am talking about as they were willing to give up a lot more than the Clippers offered. Paul is not only the best floor general in the game, but he makes the WHOLE team look better. There have never been 2 dominant players on the Clippers team at one point, I mean you can try to argue back in Elton Brand's glory days but who did he have? Mobley? Maggette? And even if they didn't let go of Gordon, his rookie contract would've ran out after this year anyways and the Clipps wouldn't of been able to afford Paul, Gordon, and Griffin and even if they could theres no guarantee that Gordon would re-sign with them anyways.

For me it basically comes down to if you have a chance to acquire a top-10 NBA player (when you already have arguably a top 5 PF in Griffin) you do it. Thats just common sense. Paul and Griffin will be the best point guard/big man combo in L.A since Magic and Kareem. Maybe when you all see CP3 alley-hoop to Griffin for the first time this year you will believe me haha. Clippers fans should feel lucky, CP3 should be playin for the Lakers right now, but because Stern didn't want him there he's not. Chris Paul is a gift, come April you will say Gordon who? lol

Ive seen more clipper games then almost anyone in here. Eric Gordon was asked to handle the ball in crunch time last year 99% of every close game they had and he is TERRIBLE at it. He is a scorer period, and a much better scorer then CP3. However the trade off is exactly what the Clippers lacked last year until Mo Williams was aquired.

As far as Elton Brands "glory days" . People forget the Clippers were 3 seconds away from playing in the western FINALS in 2006 if not for Dunleavy and Daniel Ewing. Chris Kaman & Brand lead the entire league in shot blocking, and BOTH Kaman and Brand were UNSTOPPABLE in the post. Cassel was amazing at PG and you are correct that was the last time the Clippers had a quality ball handler to start and end a season.

Kaman and Aminu AND next year #1 draft pick are all going to be huge for the Hornets. Eric Gordon as a scorer will be an All star as a 2guard so CP3 better come to play giving up all that.

I do like Butler and Chauncy a ton. My favorite thing about Chis Paul a CLipper is how Bledsoe can learn from him , kid has a TON of pottential
