players are not rigging games, they just arent. In D2 basketball in bumble**** north dakota? maybe. In the NBA? no. Could someone get in a refs pocket and get them to make a few phantom foul calls? yes but im pretty sure its rare, everyone uses the donaghey example, he was the exception, not the rule, and he paid a big price.

I do agree with you though, I don't think the players rig the NBA. It's mainly Stern, owners, refs, etc. IMO the players are the only ones innocent and are really PLAYING the game.

i hate to admit, but i felt like the Mavs were the winner last night before the game, with the Heat to win Game 6, there will be a Game 7 after the NBA not having the conference finals going deep & not having hoops over the Memorial Day weekend. of course i was wrong at that time thinking the NBA would for sure have hoops then & they didn't

Shaq is not funny at all.....I'm sure refs know what the spread is in NBA games but they call fouls to please the crowd or to bailout superstars I believe.. in the NFL the refs definitely screw around with b.s calls, but at the end of the day players make plays

I've seen the situation when a team is up large with <5 seconds left and a player runs down full court to dunk it before time expires to cover a spread. Call it a coincidence or a natural part of the game, but it is very suspicious.

Overall, I don't think it's rigged. It may seem like it at times - and sure stars get treatment - but I don't think overall outcomes are rigged. If they were, don't you think we'd have seen a LeBron/Kobe finals by now?

To some extent, yes I do agree 100%. If is is rigged or manipulated just a bit then it is rigged IMO. It's like the Mafia. We know it exists on some levels, but what can anyone really do about it. It is what it is. This whole messed up world is rigged in some way. Look at our politics, media, just about everything is rigged or manipulated in some way. For god sakes, you pretty much have to know someone to get a decent job anymore. I used to care but it is no use to anymore. This whole damn world is crumbling around us by the hands of the greed and hate.
