Dan Gilbert (Cavs owner) goes OFFFFFFFFFF ....

This is the open letter to the fans if you go to clevelandcavaliers.com

WOWWWWWWW

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER ‘KING’ WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert
Majority Owner
Cleveland Cavaliers

Would he be singing the same tune if LBJ didn't make such a spectacle of this and jerk everyone around for a week? And guaranteeing a ship before LBJ, eek talk about a comment you wish you could take back.

Cavs owner: LeBron quit during playoffs

CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert says LeBron James "quit" during the playoffs and should be accountable for his actions.

Gilbert, who posted a letter to Cavs fans on the team's website shortly after James announced he plans to sign with Miami, tells The Associated Press late Thursday night that he feels "personally betrayed" by James and that it's "accountability time."

In a phone interview with the AP, Gilbert says "people have covered up for [James] for way too long. Tonight we saw who he really is."

Gilbert says James quit on the Cavs during their second-round series against the Boston Celtics, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit to eliminate Cleveland.

this guy has 0 balls. he was going to *** lebron, the quitter, more money than anyone else. why?

please. crying because he realizes how much money he's going to lose because of this. shady ass move by another money grubbing shady ass owner.

and bisket, he'll easily bet, and lose, more on his claim of winning a title before lebron than you have bet in your entire life combined and it will not matter to him. he owns an nba team. money is no object. please.

anyway, gilbert is trying to get a bond going on in cleveland right now thats all. he's trying to keep people interested in anyway that he can because he knows ticket sales, merchandise sales, tv ratings, everything is going to plummet. he's being a fight promoter right now. anything he can say/do to keep making money.

it's just ironic that 24 hours ago dan gilbert would have sucked lebron off while doing a hand stand and now he's promising a title win before lebron and the heat. lmao when the heat get this all figured out in a year or 2 its OVER for the rest of the nba for the next 5-7 years, count on it. especially if pat riley is around to oversee it.

Gilbert, who has owned the Cavs for five years, said he was most disappointed by James' behavior in the months leading up to the superstar's announcement that he is going to Miami to play with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Gilbert said James never returned a single phone message or text since the end of the season and that the Cavs were not informed of James' decision until he went on the air.

Gilbert said Rich Paul, one of James' business partners, called the Cavs moments before the announcement.

A couple of things to know about Danny Gilbert:

1) He is a very positive guy usually...almost like a cheerleader. Even in the last few minutes leading up to the announcement he probably still believed Lebron would stay.

2) Dan has had very few "setbacks" in his career. This is a HUGE one and he obviously didn't handle it well with his initial comments. Sometimes it is better to step back and speak later when things are not so raw. Danny really set himself up to look bad with several of his comments and probably looks like a sore loser right now.

3) Although the valus of his team was probably cut in half that quickly with Lebron's decision I wouldn't feel too bad for Dan as he will make a fortune with the Casinos that he got approved and will own in Ohio.

4) Just my opinion but Lebron handled the whole thing poorly. Probably tarnished his reputation short term but time will tell long term (based on the results with the Heat). One comment I thought was great in watching some of the coverage was by Chris Webber (can't believe I would ever give Webber credit for anything) he said that the Lakers (who he said everybody hates) just gained a million new fans as people will look at Lebron and the Heat as the "evil empire" and pull for the Lakers and other teams to beat them. LOL he may be right as I for one hate the Lakers and found myself thinking ...wow...Kobe and the Lakers actually might not be as bad as I thought.

The whole thing was an EGOTISTICAL wet dream for Lebron and although I didn't watch it all did he even say anything about the Boys and Girls Club? Did he say he was giving them anything (like matching any money raised).

To me Lebron is really the poster boy for the NBA...a great athlete and talent who is more worried about "his brand" and his EGO than anything else.
