Denver/NYK
So after NY's loss tonight I believe they are now .500 since the Melo trade, yet Denver is 8-2. My question is, is Denver actually better off without Melo? Is it possible to actually trade one of the leagues best, along with one of leagues best PGs, and get better playing with a team full of role players?
As for NY, I have watched a handful of their games since the deal and it appears that the lack of a true center is killing them. So even with some good young talent and 2 superstars, their inability to fill that void will become a lingering problem. |

I think Denver was underachieving with Melo to begin with so picking up their level of play shouldn't be too tough considering the core was still in tact and they added a couple of role players.
Its a bit different for the Knicks because they added a couple of players who control the ball so they need to get integrated still. Plus I think Denver's post trade schedule has been kind of light as opposed to the Knicks. I do agree with you about the Knicks and their lack of center but both teams don't play much defense anyways. If I was a top team though I would still prefer Denver now w/o Carmelo as opposed to playing the Knicks with Melo.
