Deron Williams is now a NJ Net

looks like a blockbuster trade is sending williams to the nets for devon harris, derick favors, and some others?

Looks to be done. Great trade for the nets, and you could argue a better get than Anthony.

you can build quickly around d will...he's better than carmelo imo. If Knicks would have done this they would have had to give up less and would be a better team. The freakin russian is sharp...probably wanted him the whole time, just driving up the price on knicks

This is only a good deal if the Nets convince DWill to stay past next year. Otherwise they gave up on Favors for a 1 year rental.

I would assume they have a tentative extension in place prior to the deal...similar to melo

The Nets don't have a good track record with guys named Williams...(Marcus, Sean, Jayson..)

I do like DWill, however.

they get him for a year plus and will throw a bunch of money in a max extension at him with the bird rights that NJ will have. Good deal here

I think its a good deal in the sense that I don't think Favors is gonna be anything special.....to assume anything about "max extensions" and "bird rights" when we don't know what is gonna be in the new CBA is a little presumptious......

Those arent going to be going anywhere in a new cba just as the franchise tag wont be going anywhere in the NFL

the other advantage of getting him now is they can offer him a deal under current CBA. That was the whole thing with Melo deal getting done now. They can offer him max right noiw and will be more than anyone can pay him and no idea how the next CBA is going to shake out so in his best interest to get his money now.
