bird was a better passer and more clutch, Dirk is in convo of best 25 NBA players ever

while Bird is in top ten

Bird was surrounded by HOFers.......agree he was a better passer but not sure about the cluth thing......have seen the Mavs choke plenty over the past few years but pretty clear that Dirk shows up in the big ones

i think they are a wash defensivley maybe slight edge to Dirk with the obvious rebounding advantage, Bird the better passer, but there is nobody the can do the things Dirk can do offensively, absolutley lethal and i dont care what era you are in you would have an easier time guarding Bird then Dirk....to me that is what seperates him, unguardable

Not fair to compare.....what I do know is, it was comical Dirk didn't make the NBA # 1 starting five again this season

really they dont even play same position, I guess sorta

Bird made those players HOFs, at least a few, McHale is HOF no matter where he played, but the rest? Parrish? Dennis Jones? Where is the all star cast?

Bird had many playoff performance like Dirk did tonight, lights out, 3 time MVP, consecutive too

3 NBA Championships, and would of had mnay more if they werent paying arguably the best team ever most years, Magics Lakers

Dude its a ridiculous comparison, its what I saw lately thing

and in THIS era Dirk is one of the most feared guys in the league, like Dave said, there is no way in hell he doesnt belong on the starting all NBA 1st team......he has an MVP and has been great for a while......now that the "team" is performing he is getting the respect he deserves

Like it or not, In US pro sport, an athlete will be judged primarly on his success, or lack of success, in the postseason. In some cases I think the emphasis on this, is a little over the top, but thats JMO.
