Very tough choice... I think I have to go with 96' for being a bit deeper

96' definitely has the depth, but the 84' class has 4 of the top 50 players to ever play the game. While the 96' in my opinion has 2 HOF'ers in Kobe and AI, and 2 borderline players in Ray Allen and Steve Nash. Some of you might disagree on AI but I think he definitely belongs in the HOF. As far as Nash goes, he's had a great 3-4 year run, just don't think it's enough to warrant a spot in the HOF. The '84 class is 1/4 of the original dream team (the greatest team ever put together), so how can you not go with the '84 class.

Exactly man... Thats why I put together the poll... You can't exactly feel good either way you go, but I still feel confident 96' was the stronger draft. Jordan was simply amazing, but then again so is Kobe. Barkley... Hell everyone has to love sir Charles, but at the same time he could be more overrated as a player when you look at AI in the 96' draft who is probably underrated.... I know they play totally different positions, but I think sometimes older players get the nod before the newer ones just because they are seen as "classic" players... or on the "Dream Team". Don't get me wrong though... Barkley was amazing and one of the best ever at what he did.... I am just trying to keep things in perspective.

I just feel in the end the 1996 draft has just too much. Its hard for people to vote against Jordan for anything, and a lot of that has to do with the media and what people have been told for years. So its not surprising the majority will go with 84 automatically.

i voted 96. but its true that people will never vote against mike for anything. its hard talking about basketball with people in chicago because they make it like its a mortal sin to compare kobe and jordan, but i dont see how you cant anymore. i know kobe only wants to be kobe but the similarities are hard to look past.

Bryant is a great player, no doubt he will be one of the great players that has played the game. But has there been any stats yet career wise were bryant has beat Jordan? For this topic I think it may be fair to let the numbers do the talking. But then agian it may be better to compare the stats when Bryant ends his career in the NBA.

I just think it would be better to compare career stats instend of just looking at one season. But we can look at something like the first 5 or so season stats to see who had the better numbers.

well kobe came into the league out of high school (even though he was on the bench 2 years) so the stats might be misleading. jordan > kobe IMO, but its close.
