Charlotte Bobcats(22-29) @ Indiana Pacers(21-28)
Public Bets:
64% Pacers -4 36% Bobcats +4
40% Pacers ML 60% Bobcats ML

The schizophrenic Pacers gained another personality as head coach Jim O'Brien was canned after a 17-27 start and replaced by assistant Frank Vogel. To be honest, I'm not quite sure which Indiana team will show up tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse. Is it the one who topped the Nuggets, Heat, Lakers, Hornets and Mavs? Or the one who lost to the likes of the Wizards, Warriors, Bucks and Clippers? We do know, however, that the Pacers are just 7-17-1 ATS as favorites after mixing it up with Miami and 1-7 ATS over their last eight games this season when playing without rest. The series history also had me bobbing with the Cats as Charlotte is 11-3-1 ATS when taking points, including 4-0 ATS if the Pacers enter with no rest.

Outcome of the Game

Back the hard-trying Bobcats against these split-personality Pacers.

Play: Charlotte Bobcats +4

Chicago Bulls(34-16) @ Utah Jazz(31-22)
Public Bets:
62% Bulls +1 70% Bulls ML
38% Jazz -1 30% Jazz ML

Two of the most underappreciated teams in NBA betting action meet on the hardwood at Energy Solutions Arena on Wednesday night, as the Chicago Bulls lock horns with the Utah Jazz.
You can bet that the Bulls are going to be thrilled to be heading back towards the Central Time Zone once again after a bad three game roadie on the West Coast that resulted in just one win over a beat up Los Angeles Clippers team. Derrick Rose dropped 36 on the Portland Trail Blazers in a 109-103 loss on Monday night, but he was called out by Nicolas Batum as a player that cannot play defense. Right now, it’s hard to argue with Batum, as the Bulls have allowed 210 points over the course of their last two games. That 105.0 points per game average is a whopping 12.5 points per game higher than the average for the year though, something that has to really upset Head Coach Tom Thibodeau. If his team doesn’t play better defense in this one against the Jazz, Chicago is certainly in a world of hurt. The key matchup is going to be on the inside. The combination of Luol Deng, Carlos Boozer, and Kurt Thomas is fantastic, even without Joakim Noah on the court, and you can bet that these three are all going to be aiming for double-doubles in a big time showdown on Wednesday.
At some point, the Jazz needs to play up to their standards on their home court in order to beat the NBA odds, as the oddsmakers are holding them to a very high standard as well. They have been embarrassed in back to back home games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets, and the last time that they beat a legitimate title contender here was back on December 10th against the Orlando Magic (and even that Orlando team wasn’t the same one that was playing after all of the trades in December). The good news is that Deron Williams is back in the lineup, as he had missed a slew of games with a wrist injury. However, he came back to the fold in a win over the Sacramento Kings and put up 21 points, nine assists, and six boards to immediately dismiss any thought about lingering injuries. Paul Millsap is going to be leading the way for the bigs for the Jazz though, and just like Chicago has its big boys, Millsap is the key man on the inside for Head Coach Jerry Sloan. Mehmet Okur is out of the lineup with a back injury though, which puts the pressure both on Millsap, Andrei Kirilenko, and Al Jefferson to pick up the slack.
Don’t let this Utah team fool you. As long as it is healthy, it is a legitimate championship contender. We know that Chicago is as well, but asking a team like these Jazz to lay just one point on the NBA odds at home against a very comparable team is ludicrous. It won’t be easy, but Williams and company should take this one by a relatively comfortable margin down the stretch.
Play: Utah Jazz -1
