NBA 1* () DALLAS MAVERICKS -1

The Mavericks lost at Denver in buzzer beater fashion in a game they should have won after leading by 9points with 3minutes to play, I expect them to bounce back and close their 3game road trip with a win. They are 2-1 both ATS and SU as a 3road (or less) favorite and Houston’s record in this range only helps our case as they are 1-4 SU and ATS, when looking at the stats I like this game even more as Dallas dominates in almost every category. One category to put particular emphasis is rebounding, thing can’t go very well in that manner when you have a 6’6 center as Houston does, consider that Dallas is 22-5 SU when winning the rebounding battle. Also consider that Houston is only 3-6 ATS in home games with the total listed as today’s game.

Note that Houston hasn’t been playing particularly well at home lately, going 3-9-1 in their last 13 games.

Take the Mavericks

NBA 1* () CHICAGO BULLS -3

I’m taking the Chicago Bulls to close out their 5 game road trip on a high note. On paper this looks like an awfully close game with 2 teams that have been playing really well especially on the defensive end, holding opponents to 92ppg and both being listed in the top5 most efficient defenses in the league while also being in the top10 in rebounding margin. So, we have to tough teams going at each other. Therefore we have to look at different things to pick a winner, one of them is context and here the Bulls have an advantage, they will be playing their 5straight road game that’s true but they will be playing with 2 days rest and New Orleans comes in with no rest after winning the first of a bb in Orlando, in this situation the Hornets are just 5-7 SU while the Bulls are 7-4 SU.

The injury to Okafor hurts this team in many different levels, as they rely on their defense and rebounding to win games, missing their top rebounder and defender in the paint is particularly painful. Both teams have improved this season but this is a better spot for a Bulls team that has won 7/10 in the series and 4straight games, they come in with their defense back in sync after allowing 100+ points to Golden State and Portland (they held Utah under 90points), consider that Chicago is 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS after playing 3 or more consecutive road games.

Take the Bulls
