Wizards G Gilbert Arenas wrote in his blog over the weekend that he expects to opt out of his contract at the end of this season.

The Boston Globe quoted Gilbert Arenas as saying he will opt out of his contract after this season, and while the Wizards remain his top choice, he will go elsewhere if the situation is right. "I could have signed an extension this year, but it wasn't going to make sense for me. If my own team doesn't take me, I'll go somewhere for a lot less to win a championship," Arenas said.
