If you want to build a team through the draft, hire....

Kevin Pritchard as your GM. The guy's moves and talent evaluation for the draft, in his short career as General Manager of the Blazers, have been unbelievable. He came in to the Portland situation with a bunch of players nobody would trade equal value for due to the "Jailblazer" rep. Now, he has completely changed the team persona and chemistry for the long term.

One thing he had going was the Paul Allen opening his wallet to buy out a few contracts too.

A little luck with getting the number one pick last year helped.

Boston Celtic fans....I would also take the quick rebulilding job that Ainge has done Getting a championship the same year. That was pretty sweet.

Greek,
I think the Pritchard picked and traded Thomas to the bulls to get Chicago's pick, Aldridge....and in that same draft traded the Randy Foye pick to Minnesota for their Brandon Roy pick.

Oh and Pritchard dumped bad contracts of Theo Ratliff and Sebass Telfair for some lower first and second round picks. ( I think became backup PG. Sergio Rodriguez)

YES... BUT THE BULLS HAD THE # 2 OVERALL PICK -- THEY SHOULD HAVE DRAFTED ROY OR JUST KEPT ALDRIDGE

Woulda made more sense. Thomas is not even close to the competitor Roy or even Aldridge is.

This drafts number one pick looks alright, Rose and Gordon in the backcourt should be a good combo.

Agreed,

One thing the Blazers seem to be doing ALOT of right now is banking on potential..... Oden and Bayless are great names, but number of NBA games played_____0_____.

I think there will be alot of growing pains next year. Pritchard needs to let this team play together a couple of years. Keep the core of Roy, Aldridge, Oden, and Bayless maybe bring in a couple of vets that won't rock the boat.
