CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Cavaliers have agreed in principle to trade for Washington Wizards forward Antawn Jamison, sources said Wednesday night.
They are believed to be sending Zydrunas Ilgauskas and a draft pick to the Wizards as part of the trade. However, there are more moving parts.
The Los Angeles Clippers are believed to be involved in the deal. Washington Post, which first reported the trade, reported that it is a three-team deal that would also involve Wizards forward Drew Gooden.
Cavs forward Jamario Moon has reportedly also been involved in the talks.
The Cavs made the move after they were unable to complete a trade with the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudemire. After nearly a week of talks the Cavs pushed for an answer Wednesday afternoon. Either they were told no or told to wait by Phoenix, who was hoping for better deals to mature.
So they moved on to Jamison, who has been one of their top trade targets since the fall.
Jamison, who is averaging 20.8 points and 8.8 rebounds for the Wizards, is the good-shooting power forward the Cavs have been looking for since last summer. He has two years and $28 million left on his contract, which prompted the Wizards to look to move him as part of a rebuilding process.

LMAO Telfair won't even sniff the floor for the Cavs this year. He couldn't get minutes on the Clippers, he'll do nothing but be a cheerleader for the Cavs.

A pretty casual NBA fan here but seems the Cavs gave up alot in this deal

Maybe not seeing how important a championship is for them this season

I can 99% guarantee you Washington will cut Ilgauskas and he will return to the Cavs in just over 30 days. Antawn Jamison for a late 1st round draft pick and losing Z for a month is nothing short of a steal, and made possible by an owner willing to take on money in order to go for a ring. It's a rare and wonderful thing to see something like this happening in Cleveland instead of the typical NY's and LA's.
