JDSilk Week 1 NBA Thread

Favorite sport begins tonight...

Celtics lead the charge raising the banner at TD Banknorth tonight. Cavs look better this year on paper, which is a good thing in the long term. This will be a good game, but I think the C's yank out the W closing out the 4th with a run.

$30 Celtics -6

In the nightcap, Lakers get back to business. Problem, they are facing the young and hungry Blazers. Ill take a chance on the youngsters tonight.

$60 Blazers +8 (-115)

Good luck tonight. Gonna be a fun Wednesday tomorrow.

Well... I like to think I do alright. I kind of understand what to avoid in the NBA, and what to play. Everything is 50-50, but if I can pick around 60% and control my bankroll. I feel like Ill have a successful season. I like the NBA the most because down the stretch in the 4th quarter, most of the spreads can go either way. Most people hate this because they feel its a crap shoot, but to me its the most exciting sport to bet on. Most of the times 4th quarter football is about ball control and killing the clock. baseball its about getting the closer out there. basketball, you gotta make FTs but that happens with less frequency than a baseball save or a backdoor touchdown in football.

Anyhow... Thats a little rant. With Brandon Lang, he seems to be a popular fade in the Newsletter Section. I have avoided the newsletter section all football season and for the most part avoided looking at percentages. Last year I got all wrapped up in seeing a percentage overload on one side or a bad capper like Lang on a side. Really just all screws with your head and forces plays. Anyone pretty much knows whos gonna be on what. I am just trying to find plays I like that dont seem like trap plays.

But to answer your question, I feel like if you just faded brandon lang and kept up for it all year you would probably come out ahead. I just choose not to b/c I am trying to use control and not force things.

Yeah, I will be posting in this thread. usually starting a new one each Monday I guess.

If you are looking to tail some picks or looking for people with a good approach. Check out rookie, bustamove, actionsportscentral to name a few real quick.

Gonna add:
$30 Celts/Cavs Under 180

GState is a good pick it seems. Im probably gonna chase a Lakers loss and try the Clippers tonight. Probably a huge mistake, but I got time to figure it out. The Houston under looks alright... Memphis likes to play uptempo, and Houston tried to last year... Hopefully the rockets can keep the grizz in the 80's for you.

For Tonight so far:
$30 Raptors +5 (-115)
$30 Heat +3

ill be back in a bit. probably gonna add the jazz or clips based on how those games play out.
