Fading the public is not a way to make money unless you have one hell of a bank roll and bet every game on the board. because it may be a bad day in basketball and baseball but keeping the lights on with Hockey. or any other variable you want to put in that equation. fading the public, where the sided information comes from a public website, is contradictory

the entire premise behind fading the public is you have information "they" (whoever they are) dont

yet these public #s are published everywhere, lol, you cant make this shit up

If I had to quantify what it means to me, Id say about 10% of public sided #s goes into making a play

lets get one thing clear though, books like to beat, the contrarians, as much as the squares lol

and knowing who the public is on does not mean you know which side has more money, only # of bets

and I hate those labels to begin with because they are false

Ive seen people lose their shirt trying to make all their plays contrarian, and vice versa

Ive seen people proclaim themselves sharp and are nothing but, its funny

if a book gets enough volume all they care about in general is their 4.55 % hold anyway

it really doesnt matter, you have to pick your spots,

if you went up and down an entire card and bet all the so called anti public plays, you might hit 54% of your plays

it also mean the so called public plays win 46%...Id want a piece of that too

54% is +EV but not by much, kinda silly, and thats a generous estimate, fading the public blindly might even yield less results

if on the other had you developed a model, that looks at --- in this sports case---

offensive, defensive efficiencies, home and away, matchups, whatever else youd like

and its effective, hits 57% and above, then public #s is the last thing that would totally decide a play

those with the good data models move the lines and steam usually, and they may or may not be on the same side as the public
