Lakers -3.5?

I know Bynum's a no-go, but Kobe will play, most likely, right???

Here's latest

The Los Angeles Lakers could be missing two starters Monday night when they host the San Antonio Spurs.

Kobe Bryant did not participate in the team's shootaround and spent the time undergoing "diagnostic tests" on his sprained left ankle, according to Lakers coach Phil Jackson. Andrew Bynum, who suffered a bruised right hip that caused him to sit out the second half of Los Angeles' win in Portland on Saturday, is probably not going to play, according to Jackson.

More on the Lakers

For more news, notes and analysis of the Lakers, check out the Land O' Lakers blog from the Kamenetzky Brothers. Blog

"He had some discomfort and can't move very well," Jackson said. Bynum is also dealing with a swollen left knee that he injured last week against the Bobcats when he collided knee-to-knee with Charlotte's Stephen Jackson.

Jackson said Bryant is still a game-time decision as the Lakers await the results of the tests, which included a MRI, on the ankle.

Hmmm, line says Kobe won't play, but SA sucks balls, especially on the road and especially vs. teams with winning records. Probably a good game to pass on........thanks for the info Jack.........

gl Drew

If Bynum is out, the Lakers interior defense WILL struggle imo.

The last 2 games the Spurs have faced the Lakers @ LA the Spurs scored 85 and 92, the team total tonight is 95 which I think indicates the Spurs should get to the rim tonight.
01/25/09 LAL 99 - SA 85 LAL -7.5 U 201

05/29/08 LAL 100 - SA 92 LAL -7.5 U 193

I think spurs team total over 95 and over 193.5 look like solid plays at the moment as far as totals.

Spurs won the last meeting big ; 01/12/10 SA 105 - LAL 85 SA -3.5 U 194

Spurs should not be intimidated the least bit vs. an LA team they know they can beat, but that revenge thing is tricky back at home. All that tells me most likely close game and adds another reason to like the over at this point. Im going to wait on breaking injury news if any. gl
