Lakers score 100 everybody gets free tacos!

From the Lakers fan site:

The Lakers have a promotion going at their home games that ensures fans will stay in their seats until the final buzzer, even if the home team is up big. If the Lakers win and hold their opponents to under 100 points, each fan receives a coupon for two free tacos from Jack in the Box, retail value of which is a whopping 99 cents. Big effing deal, right? You'd be surprised.

There's really no other way to describe it: the fans go absolutely bonkers for this promotion. This weird sort of collective consciousness takes over the building in the waning minutes of a Laker blowout, where everyone becomes rabid for free tacos. ...... "WE WANT TACOS!!" chants from the fans.

Do you think thay's why the last second 3??

lol, Raptors have this same type of promo with a free Pizza slice.
Chants of pizzzza pizzzza take over, its pretty damn funny.
But in a playoff game its totally different imo, especially one to close out a team. It was disrespectful.

But this promotion is for the Lakers holding their opponent under 100, so the last second 3 didn't help with that.

no. lakers need to hit 100 AND keep opponent under 100 for the promotion. so sasha's 3 did help.

for the raptors, they pick a number out of a hat, usually anywhere from 90 to 105, if the raptors score more.. everyone gets a free slice of pizza pizza the next day, if they take their ticket to a Pizza Pizza store..

same with the toronto blue jays.. if blue jays pitchers have a combined 7+ strikeouts for the day, everyone gets free slice of pizza..
