LeBron to LeShaq next season!

Cavs land Shaq for Wallace, Pavlovic

By Adrian Wojnarowski, Yahoo! Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers have reached an agreement in principle to acquire Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O’Neal a league source told Yahoo! Sports late Thursday night.

Cleveland will send Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, the 46th pick in Thursday’s draft and cash to the Suns for O’Neal.

I'll tell you what. I was a big Shaq fan and hated when he left and how he left. I know there are a lot of Shaq haters and I know Shaq is a lot older and not the same player BUT his presence alone can't be questioned. He spaces the floor like no other player. Although Dwight Howard is the monster in the East, this is a huge move for Cleveland.

It makes the best player in the NBA (Lebron) better
It makes those 3 point shooters immediately better
When you have to key on Lebron, Shaq is still hard to stop one on one

Rip him all you want, Cavs are definitely the favorite next year. JMO

The big question is, can Shaq get out of the lane when Lebron comes blazing through?

I don't think so rjb. Magic played over their heads and are a nice team but I am not sure they don't take a step back and if they don't resign Turk - forget it. Boston is good no doubt but Cleveland was the best team in the regular season without Shaq and now you have that same team with something to prove with one of the all-time greats motivated and jealous of Kobe winning without him. He won with Kobe, won with Wade so why not Lebron?

he won with wade 4 years ago...he's just too old. at a certain point you get too old to keep "getting motivated"...they will go in to the playoffs with high expectations and flame out. they can't match up with the magic at all...they showed that in the series and all of their recent matchups. just too much athleticism on orlando for the cavs to deal with

Valid points. Also I agree they can't match up one on one with Orlando but if another team knocks out the Magic (it is all about matchups) then Cleveland might be in luck.

I mean Shaq makes them better, not worse right?
They were pretty good this year

Its an upgrade over Z but they still have a Big, Slow, Injury Prone center so i dont think it puts them over the hump and in the clear

yea they get better, but they still need to improve who's going to step up in the playoffs besides lebron. and i'm talking real teams in the big games, not just against the hawks. mo williams and west disappeared...plus who's going to give them good play off the bench

17.8 ppg (highest since 05/06)

Those role players will get better now because of Shaq on the floor. I mean they are going to be wide open. If they don't make those shots this year, there can be no more excuses
