Lots of talk about the East and the Changes

But what does everyone think the west shapes up like? Can the Spurs make another run or is it over for them? How far up does Okie City climb?

Lakers, of course, probably number 1 seed out west, with Dallas and Denver making some noise as usual.

Spurs getting to be too old, but you can never discount or dismiss experience.

Oklahoma might continue to impress, but then again other teams might wise up to them and play them differently (ie. better) than last season. Thunder as well as the solid Trailblazers are both dark horses IMO.

Suns and Rockets are up in the air depending on how the personnel changes pan out. Amare out of Phoenix and Yao Ming back in Houston (potentially in limited role) might have these teams flip flopping wildly in the standings. Could Grizzlies also make some noise in the bottom half of the playoff seeds?

Should be interesting nonetheless.

The fact we all can see a Heat & Lakers final, tells me, we wont lol. Somehow, I think Orlando or Boston gets there, just a gut feeling. It will take a while for the chemistry to evolve for the Heat, and maybe in future years they win, but right now I dont think they will.

Lakers, Thunder, Mavs, Rockets and Suns are all playoff teams, unless disaster strikes... that leaves only 3 spots open...

would be really surprised if Portland and Utah don't grab two of those spots...

that leaves the Spurs, Grizzlies and (yea yea) the Clippers to fight for the last spot... i think the Spurs could very well miss the playoffs entirely, given the fact that both LA and Memphis are much younger...

TWolves, Kings, Warriors and Hornets are playing for draft position...

hmmm... when i was breaking it down i originally had included the Nuggets, but somehow left them out... i would actually put them in the Portland and Utah category, in the 2nd tier...

basically, the moral of the story is... Spurs will not make the playoffs next year...

Lakers are only team I think that can legitimately win west barring injury, but eastern conference has four teams that have a chance

Hey Boys,

Something tells me in the west, Oklahoma will be a team on the rise big time. They easily gave the Lakers a big run for their money and if the guy boxed out Gasol in game 6, who knows what might have happened. I wouldnt be surprised if they make it to the conference finals this year & have a rematch with the Lakers.
