Magic on the Suns Tonight

Magic on the PS 5 tonight:

1. I believe the Suns are a very good perimeter shooting team and they will keep this game close if not win outright....

2. The Lakers have struggled in the playoffs with solid outside shooting teams because they have such a size advantage...and this has caused mismatches on the perimeter!

3. I look for this to work against them tonight having to defend the perimeter with size allows the quicker Suns to get good looks around the arc!

* As you can see I'm counting on the Suns to shoot the ball well and the Suns bench to continue its excellent play.....Nash should have both eyes to see out of tonight.

Good Luck All!!!

I'm not hitting this as hard as I did Boston yesterday....but believe the Suns cover..GL All!

I agree with you, Magic, and that might not necessarily be a good thing (I'm an awesome fade).

You are right in that the size mismatches would lead to a lot of perimeter shooting by the Suns and that would be great if, and only if, they can shoot out the lights with at least 45% shooting.

Otherwise, the Lakers (an already pretty good rebounding team) will have their bigs eat up missed shot after missed shot off of the boards like Rosie O'Donnell two-fisting at a buffet table. When relying on outside shooting, if it's an off night for Phoenix, well, the Lakers would win easily by double digits.

Nash is awesome, no doubt, but I think that Kobe & Co. will be on him like white-on-rice and consequently he won't be able to penetrate and create like he normally can. Amare will similarly be neutralized inside by Gausol and the other big Laker bodies.

The Suns only hope is to be fast and be offensively efficient (that is, make good on their limited opportunities early and often), and make the Lakers "go small" to counteract that Phoenix speed. That might then open up things for Stoudemire on the inside.

As for Kobe, well, he is arguably the best player in the world and no doubt the best player in these playoffs (poor Lebron), and he alone can possibly elevate and will the Lakers to a big win. I'm hoping he has an off-night and hope that the Nash, Amare, and the Suns can steal this first game and wrest away home-court advantage.

Dark Horse Intangibles: Grant Hill and Lamar Odom - either of these two could be the tipping point for this series, let alone Game 1

Good luck! I'm with you!

Go Suns Go!
