MasterCapper's GAME OF THE DECADE!!!

OK guys, I haven't been on this site since MLB season, and that's because I've been busy doing several other things. But ... I've still been capping, and, as I told a friend earlier today, I pick my spots in basketball.

Well, do I ever have a spot today!

I'm calling tonight's Spurs-Lakers game my game of the decade!!! Is that even possible? Does anybody do that? Game. Of. The. Decade?

Sounds absurd, right? Well, it's not ...

The Spurs fall into a system of mine that is a perfect 26-0 since 1998-99. Additionally, there are other systems that speak glowingly for the Spurs. In fact, three systems in all favor the Spurs by at least a 3:1 ratio.

Take the Spurs (-2) to win by 15+. Expect an easy blowout, a game that will be so lopsided that we'll all be laughing about it at halftime.

UPDATE: Line has moved to -2.5. That's OK.

50* play!!!
Spurs (-2)

All due respect...."game of the decade"??? Past 10 yrs or next 10 yrs? Quite an accolade for an early Jan season game...game of the night or week I can appreciate but seems this label should be reserved for something like game 7 between Lakers & Celtics or something more attractive...but....only my opinion...good to see ya back and GL with it

LOL ... Well, last year I had a game of the year, and I often do Games of the Month, etc. But, with it being 2009 and all, aka the end of the decade, I thought I might as well toss this out there.

But, there is a reason: I rarely have a system play that is 25-0+. Very rarely. And so, given the circumstances (San Antonio being the oldest team in the league, and getting a night's rest ... LA Lakers coming off a road win at Houston, and a tough one at that ...) it's a perfect time to make it a GOTD!!!

Also, keep in mind: San Antonio just lost a marquee game against Orlando. They won't want to fall once again in a similar spot, and in a game that's on ESPN no less. Won't happen.

Eassssy money.

Also, so as not to give away my system (at least not yet ) ... let me add that the Spurs are 85-45 against the spread since 2003 when coming off two day's rest.

Don't be afraid

I'm serious, it's like the dentist always says ... after a minute or two, all the pain will go away. We'll all be laughing about this one by halftime!

Also, don't forget: this is LA's first game against San Antonio this year. They haven't played since last year's conf. finals, when the Lakers destroyed them.

What more do they have to prove? Nothing.

Should be a good game tonight, IMO, but like the play nonetheless. Good luck tonight to you.

Well, I'm not laughing just yet. This is actually not what I was hoping for. I think San Antonio is playing with great energy, but that's not necessarily translating to great defense.

SA is up two at the half, 63-61, but I'm not all that concerned. Still love SA to win, and without much of a struggle
