Memphis Minnesota Trade

ESPN is reporting that the Timberwolves have agreed to trade O.J. Mayo, Marko Jaric, Antoine Walker and Greg Buckner to the Grizzlies, in exchange for Kevin Love, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal and Jason Collins.

Didn't know if I liked the trade when I first heard about it, but warming up to it now

I feel like the only sure things in this draft were Rose and Beasley.

Though I think Mayo will be a borderline All Star, I think Love will be a very solid NBA player for years to come. Most important for me is getting Miller number 1 as three point shooting is one of their biggest problems.

That besides the fact that they cleared Jaric and Walker off the books and they have a team full of players who play Mayo's postion, I think I am happy with it.

I may be in the minority though listening to talk radio today here

The TWolves are going whiter.....I'm not so sure that is a good idea.....probably will be a poor rebounding team.

BS man. He'll be a very solid PF. Can't see him being strong or big enough to hold down the 5 spot but he would make for a very good in your face PF. I can see him banging down in the paint already and throwing those sweet hooks in.

Did you guys not watch him play in college?

I did watch him play in college or else I wouldn't have commented. This is the reason sportsbooks are around. LOL "he can't hold down the 5",so how do you justify him being a #5 pick? LMFAO

He will always struggle at the 5 because of his height. I could be wrong if he has an insane vertical but I do not think he is athletic enough or tall enough to play the defense needed for the 5 spot. A center has to be able to do everything, including good defense and blocking shots (Very underrated, very important). your 5 ideally needs to be tall, athletic, and intimidating. Unfortunately Kevon Love is none of those, however there are not many on this planet who are.

BUT, Love could play defense and the PF position without any problems and his strength is his offense. He's gonna score a lot of points regardless. His offense is a done deal. How he does on defense is going to determine everything.

Love is a bust...the point of this trade was to dump the contracts of Jaric(maybe the most overpayed player in the history of sports) and Walker who is over the hill.

Losing Mayo for love really hurts though. Mayo could be a pretty good little NBA scorer in a few years.
