Miami Heat Bias on Cappers Mall
I have been a Mavericks fan for years and always look to this site as a source of seeing who the "real" gamblers are thinking in order to offset the media bias that is always an over-reaction here locally. There are GREAT cappers in every sport on here and I absolutely value this site. In this NBA Playoffs/Finals, however, a few Miami Heat/Lebron James posters have dominated this board to the point where it has disappointed me. There are dozens of threads that basically say the same thing. I understand that a few certain people on here think the Heat and Lebron are the greatest in the world and no matter what happens on the court they need to keep re-affirming that to us in thread after thread. At this point, it seems to me that all these different threads are just trying to convince themselves that the Heat still have a chance (which they do). I may be way off base here but it frustrates me when I have to sift through all these threads to get different people's opinions. If the Heat win these threads will continue to be brought up time after time while if the Mavs prevail we will not hear from these people until the next time they want to overhype something...
MY OPINION ON THE FINALS....
Dallas has some very good matchups that they continue to exploit. They seem like the fresher team most games. They have not lost 2 games in a row since the Portland series where they blew a 20+ point lead late to freakishly do it then. The difference between last year's Lakers and this was that the Lakers were a polished winning team who had been there before. This Heat team is learning how to win on the fly and they have a struggling superstar who is showing his youth under pressure. You are asking for 2 straight wins against a determined Mavericks team with the same Finals pressure and asking them to overcome some serious deficiencies in turning it on for 2 straight. Many will view this series as FREE MONEY in that you bet the Heat for the series at a pickem and hedge once the Heat blow the doors off the Mavs in the "given" Game 6. The conspiracy angle is fun to explore but has anyone thought about the precedent it sets for the Heat to win it all the very first year after the 3 man free agency strategy. Just maybe David Stern isnt so incredibly thrilled with the message that sends to other free agents trying to win a championship. I think they might be setting Heat backers up for a bath when everything is said and done. They have been overpriced at all points throughout the series and this may be one final chance (like Keith pointed out) One last interesting fact is that the 3 games the Mavs have one came with 1 day of rest while the 2 games the Heat won have come with 2+ days of rest. That would suggest that the Heat could have the edge in Game 6 but the Mavs with a clear edge should there be a Game 7.
I love the Mavs to get this done somehow.
Good luck!!!
