My first and only pro GOY
If this doesn't hit, I promise no more posts the rest of the NBA season.
I got the line line at -5.5 this morning but still like it a ton even as it has moved to -7.5 (despite NEARLY 50% ON EACH-CARIB). Denver went into Phoenix last night having won several in a row and in an ultimate dog fight with Dallas and GS for the last playoff spot in the west. Considering what the parity is in the Western Conference and what GS did last year as an 8 seed, these teams are really battling it out for the last spot. Anyhow, each game is like a must win for all three times. Denver was up huge early and playing well, but Nash got knocked in the face, and Phoenix put together one of their awesome home runs in the second half to catch and pull away from the Nuggets. Nash was like 8 for 11 from three, Amare scored 40, it was an outstandin effort by the Suns. For Denver, both Carmelo and AI looked a little off. This type of game is very similar to what they did to Golden State the last time they played. Although the spread ended up being 15 points, it was a well contested game save the last four minutes. Think about Phoenix and what they were facing at the half down 20 to the Nuggets who had just shot 60 something percent from the field. They had to figure that it was going to be very difficult getting a win against this team on their homecourt. I think the Suns came out of the locker room with the mentality of either trying to make it a ball game quickly or give up and save it for tomorrow in Denver. Otherwise your looking at 2 losses in a row and in the West, that could translate to a big drop. Well, they quickly cut the lead early and then... well the rest is history. Interestingly, whereas the Nuggets played nine y'day, the Suns only went seven deep and their starters averaged several more minutes than the Nuggets. Phoenix scored 81 points in the second half last night! Remember that Karl accused the Suns of running up the score earlier this year in Phoenix. Not to mention, Nash was just superb and it is highly unlikely he nails another 8 three pointers tonight. Gary Bender indicated Grant Hill is not playing till Friday and thus, I suspect the Suns will be depleted after a great win last night. I think they are a team ready to mail it in for a game, whereas the Nuggets will be mad and focused on payback. The Nuggets will bear down tonight and likely blow away a Suns team happy to get a split against a team in desperation. |

thanks humbled
You know i play halves and once in a while quarters too. i decided not to just because denver led early in phoenix and there's a part of me that thinks that phoenix might jump out early tonight. denver should shut the door on them late. thus, i am less concerned about the back door cover especially since i got it at -5.5. but gl to u and i hope they beat them down early and late tonight. |
