NBA Finals Composite Box Score

I was looking all over the internet for an NBA Finals composite box score but couldn't find one, so I decided to make one by flipping around NBA.com and a lot of Cut and Paste later here you have it.

Some things that stand out at me is that the Lakers have absolutely no shot blocking, Pau Gasol at a pathetic 0.2 per game. Turiaf and Walton have been total non-factors for the Lakers.

For the Celtics the Effective FG% (see bottom) of Allen, Pierce, and Posey has been outstanding. Role players have stepped in and done a fine job when needed, P.J. Brown for Perkins (Brown does a lot that doesn't show up in a box score, like drawing charges), Eddie House for Rajon Rondo, and of course Leon Powe's big game 2 performance.

Kobe Bryant has been remarkably inefficient during the series. His 44.3% Effective FG% puts him ahead of only the pathetic Luke Walton on the Lakers team for the series. Lamar Odom has been his usual enigmatic self, with his entire statline well below his season averages.

Going forward Ariza should get all of Walton's minutes. Jackson shouldn't hesitate to insert DJ Mbenga or Chris Mihm instead of Ronny Turiaf, since neither figures to be less productive than Turiaf who is averaging 2.3 points and 0.8 rebounds (that's right 0.8) in 12.5 minutes per game.

Effective Field Goal Percentage (eFG%); the formula is (FG + 0.5 * 3P) / FGA. This statistic adjusts for the fact that a 3-point field goal is worth one more point than a 2-point field goal.

Los Angeles eFG% PPG

Bryant 44.3% 26.8
Fisher 46.4% 10.8

Radmanovic 51.4% 7.8
Farmar 57.1% 4.8
Ariza 72.5% 3.3 (3 games)
Walton 24.0% 1.2

Boston eFG% PPG

R Allen 64.1% 20.0
Pierce 52.2% 19.0
Posey 58.1% 9.5
