NBA Free Agency Rumors/Trades/Signings Thread

Prob easier to do 1 thread.

1.) Restricted free agent Joe Ingles is finalizing an agreement to stay in Utah, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. The deal will reportedly pay him $52MM over four seasons (Twitter link). There are no options for either side, according to Sam Amick of USA Today

2.) Armed with $28.5MM in cap space, Brooklyn will consider Wizards forward Otto Porter, Pistons shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jazz forward Joe Ingles. Any offer sheet the Nets submit to any of them can be matched by their current team, but that won’t deter Brooklyn GM Sean Marks.

3.) The Suns will no longer pursue Hawks power forward Paul Millsap, tweets Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com. Phoenix has opted to use its available cap to take on salary dumps paired with assets, Wojnarowski adds. The Suns are committing to a youth movement are open to dealing any of the veterans on their roster.

The Rockets and Cavaliers are discussing a trade that would send Iman Shumpert to Houston, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. According to Brian Windhorst of ESPN (via Twitter), the proposed deal would net the Cavs a draft pick and a trade exception. Shams Charania of The Vertical (Twitter link) classifies the trade talks as serious. A package of Tim Quarterman, Ryan Kelly, Isaiah Taylor, Shawn Long, and Chinanu Onuaku would theoretically be enough to acquire Shumpert from a cap perspective. Of those players, only Onuaku has a guaranteed salary for 2017/18, so the Cavs could waive the rest and clear approximately $9MM from their cap while creating a sizable trade exception.

Here you go Celtics fans!!!!!! Ainge showing he's still alive. Will this be enough to push them past Cleveland??????? I would imagine they no longer are in the running for Hayward after this bombshell of a deal.

The Celtics and German forward Daniel Theis are in agreement on a two-year contract, league sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. International basketball journalist David Pick first reported last month (via Twitter) that Theis would be joining the C’s on a deal that runs through 2018/2019. Theis, 25, went undrafted in 2013 and his rights aren’t held by an NBA team, so he’ll join the Celtics as a free agent after his contract with Germany’s Brose Bamberg expired. In 41 German League games last season, Theis averaged 9.5 PPG and 5.7 RPG. He also appeared in 30 EuroLeague contests, recording 9.6 PPG and 4.6 RPG.

Hayward is meeting today with Boston, I know I'm in the minority, but I have a feeling he stays in Utah, just a hunch

I just had a convo with my buddy I think he goes to Miami. He could easily become an all star in the East and in Miami he would be the go to guy. No income tax and South Beach are very appealing.

Yea they saw what all young kids and no vets does, only problem is that at best they're like a 7 seed in the West. The West is tough

Free Agency has become chaos and the days of predicability are long gone. Gotta love it.
New teams each year can become contenders and Champs can become chumps!
Anybody but the Lakers...

There's a strong possibility that either LA Clippers guard Jamal Crawford or free agent Nick Young could end up with the Golden State Warriors this offseason, league sources tell ESPN.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Crawford, 37, is being included in a progressing three-team trade that would send the three-time Sixth Man Award winner to the Atlanta Hawks.

Sources informed ESPN that Crawford would seek an immediate buyout and the Warriors would be the front-runners for his services if they still possessed the taxpayer midlevel exception of $5.2 million. Crawford has two years and $29 million remaining on his contract, but the final year is non-guaranteed. He has made nearly $135 million over his 17-year career.

George Hill 3/57 to the Kings

Sack Randolph 2/24(?) to the Kings

2 good signings for them. Get some vets in there with their young kids. Lot of value in signing vets when you have young guys, and teams will often over pay, like the Kings and Sixers for vets to help the young kids.

I wonder if this will now push Hayward towards the Celtics or Heat since he liked Hill. The Jazz did get Rubio who Hayward likes but will it be enough. Hayward is a perennial all star in the East and probably All NBA team too. He should go to the East, but Boston signing him stunts the growth of Tatum and Brown. I still think he's going to the Heat for some reason.

I heard his best friend is Ingles and he just resigned with the Jazz. I think he stays in Utah and takes the most money. He probably likes that team with Gobert, Favors and Rubio.

Kings out of the running for Otto Porter now, he never signed the offer sheet and they don't have the room

Jazz are never going to win more than a round in the West and Utah isn't exactly a great city to live in. I could def see him going back because he has friends there, but for his career it would be suicide. Money trumps all though.

he Celtics haven’t heard from Hayward yet, but they aren’t denying the report from ESPN, tweets Mark Murphy of The Boston Herald. Sources are telling Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe that the move is a formality and the teams just need to be notified (Twitter link).
