Chicago at Detroit

Chicago and Detroit are battling for playoff position. Neither wants to face Cleveland in the first round and a Chicago win here would keep them out of a first-round matchup with the Cavs. Detroit could also avoid the Cavs if they beat the Bulls and end up at least tied with them (Detroit would own the tiebreaker). The Bulls have won four in a row and 11 of 14. Detroit has lost 10 of 16. This figures to be a close, hard-fought battle.

Charlotte at New Jersey

Both Charlotte and the Nets are out of the playoff picture. The Nets got up to play the role of spoiler and beat the slumping Magic at home on Saturday, despite not having point guard Devin Harris. There's nothing to spoil here, so the Nets could be a bit flat off that big win. They will most likely be without Harris again and may once again start three rookies. Both teams have indicated that they're playing to win these final games and I like Charlotte's defense and coach Larry Brown with 8 points here.
