NBA System Play for Tuesday (sort of)

Can't say that I love it... but the system says play it.....

Cleveland -16 over New Jersey.

I'm not counting this as a system play because I've decided to take any game where I'm giving over 13 1/2 points out of the system. But other than that, this one screams out as a great play.

Sounds like a good rule of thumb, ASC, the Cavs got kind of disinterested late in the last one.

ASC good luck on your play tonight. Hope you are still in London since we have another 8" or so for tonight. Nightmarish around these parts.

Yep - still in London and looks like I might be until Thursday.

The system is basically based on rebounding statistics (the theory being that these are the most predictable of all stats and among the most important) and inside play. Teams with big advantages here usually consistently cover the spread against that are weak here.

The reason why I've decided to nix the big spread games - by the way, this is the first change in about 8 years to my system, which is in its 20th year... (damn I'm getting old) - is because it kind of obsoletes the stats when you have a matchup like this. Cleveland can beat Jersey by whatever they feel like. So why keep the gas to the floor in the 4th up by 19 when you can coast in the last 3 minutes? Then Jersey gets all excited and cuts it to 9 and we lose. This has happened before as many remember. Still betting it - but lighter and not counting it in my records.

If you felt that was the case, why wouldn't you just bet 1st half?
