ordinary average people picks

For the last 4 weeks I have been tracking best bet basketball picks from people I personally know. I am doing this as research for next year. These people have selected 1 side or total ATS each day. If two picks were against each other I did not count those picks for that day. Sometimes these people will skip a day if they are busy.

Results so far

Capper #1 is a typical 30-something who played high school sports and who also watches sports and considers himself an expert.

Record: 9-16

Capper #2 is not from America. He moved here when he was very young and he does not consider himself an expert at all. He does not know the history of American sports and he did not play high school sports.

Record: 10-11

Capper #3 is also not from America and he moved here later in life. Out of all of the cappers he probably knows the least about sports or the American history of it.

Record: 8-11

Capper #4 did not play high school sports but he is another typical American guy. He watches sports but it is not a priority unless in a party setting. He likes to go out.

Record: 6-14

Capper #5 played high school and college sports. He considers himself an expert.

Record: 10-8

Capper #6 played high school sports and considers himself an expert.

Record: 10-18

Capper #7 is an American female who did not play high school sports. She watches the games once in awhile.

Record: 8-19

Capper #8 quit picking. His record was 1-1.

Capper #9 is another American female.

Record: 6-14

Capper #10 is a gambler who played high school sports and considers himself beyond an expert.

Record: 6-9

I am keeping a spreadsheet on these picks.

I forgot to mention that the underdog was only selected 10 times and the under total was only selected 2 times. The over total was selected 6 times and the rest of the picks have been favorites.

This is interesting to me. Are the brains wired to select the favorite and over total? I will continue to track.

most who dont gamble often will tend to go over/chalk.

you know... it would be great if you would post their picks... or at least any consensus picks... betcha make a mint fading them...

well a well known policy in football whether or not it pertains to baskets too is that if you want action take the points and the under or vice versa give the points and take the over..... if betting straight bets you will lose juice more times than not while picking up a few wins here or there

Next year I will post from the beginning of the season. Right now it is strictly research with no money wagered or exchanged. Every few weeks or so I will post updates. It might be too late in the season to try to make money following or fading.
