Orlando close to acquiring Vince Carter

The New Jersey Nets are in serious talks with the Magic about a deal that will send Vince Carter to Orlando for Rafer Alston, Tony Battie and Courtney Lee, two league sources told ESPN.com.


The talks have reached a point that a deal could be done by the end of the day Thursday, according to sources.

Nelson is a much better player, true but Alston led them in the playoffs and Nelson didn't quite get the job done in finals. I think if they kept Rafer it could have people doing some second guessing, right or wrong

I like dumping Rafer. The guy has talent, but sometimes it best to STFU for the sake of winning. I don't like sending Lee for Vince. Lee has upside and Vince doesn't. Very interesting move...............This could be short-term Hedo insurance...who knows.
