For GS this evening. Heard the GS announcers mentioning it the other day that the warriors should have a little something special for the Hawks on the first game of their four game road trip since they've lost to the Hawks four consecutive games. Looking at these past games, the first two that happened last year occurred shortly after the trade and really before the Warriors established the team identity that currently exists. The last game, played earlier this year, was played without Stephen Jackson, and after the Warriors had just previously beaten the Celtics (on a last second shot) and the Suns at home. Can you say letdown. The Warriors were down 18 at the half, managed to make a run but fell short. On the other end of matters, for the Hawks, it was their first win with Mike Bibby. The previous game, Bibby and the Hawks lost to their trade partner, the Sacto Kings, so I am sure that they were focused to play better against Gs.

Well, both teams are in playoff contention and all that, but with the crazy competition that exists in the west, well, you just can't make many mistakes, the margin of error is much smaller for west conference teams, especially on a road trip. If the Warriors even go 2-2 they may be once again on the outside looking in. For that matter, it might be smart to consider all these west coast teams as they make their end of the year road trips out east. anyway.

One other thing, although the Warriors will be without Biedrins, it looks like the rook Brandan Wright is stepping up nicely. The Warriors do have some versatility and depth and although Biedrins will be missed, it shouldn't impact what they are able to do tonight. Already got this one in for 20% of my bankroll. GS +2 at betjm

a couple of other things to add: one, monta ellis is playing out of his mind right now. he has definitely taken it to the next level, the guy is shooting 53% from the field, and over the last 16 games, he has only shot under 50% in two of these games. the kid is on fire, and atlanta has no one that can stop him on defense from what i can see.

also, in considering the warriors road trip, they play four in five nights. notoriously that last game is a byatch. well, they play orlando that game, and I am sure then that the beginning of this road trip will be stressed a little bit more because of such.
