Posted this in 2 other threads, this is an outrage

Last year the suns get two of their best players suspended for some bullshit rule, Diaw takes maybe 1 step onto the court and he's out for a pivotal game 5. THIS year, not only does Garnett shove a ref, but two Celtics bench players step onto the court to see what was happening and they get NO SUSPENSIONS. Stern said last year he was going by the letter of the law, no changes were made to it over the offseason, yet magically because they are Boston and the NBA wants them in the Finals, their is no discipline? THis is ****ing unreal...I can't believe I even watch this garbage anymore

you are joking right rjb?
i didnt see the shove, so i cant comment on that.
i saw the stepping on the court, and i only saw 1 player, but since you mention it, why are you not outraged that the atlanta player didnt get a suspension either?
i had a beef on how it was handled last year, and i think they had it right this year. there was obviously NO INTENT by either Atlanta or Boston player to go in and throw down. so there was no reason to go and ruin a series; furthermore they were still in front of the bench so i could see how stern was lucky and thats probably his excuse to not suspend either player.
i was a little more outraged at the almost headbutt on Garnett, but i am no whiny bitch so i wont say anything..lol

I dont give a shit about intent. Stern said flatly..."To the letter of the law" last year, when Diaw took 1 step onto the court, Amare took a few more before he was stopped by the coaches. BOTH were suspended. To not rule in the same way as last year is complete bullshit and he should be slapped in public. It ****ed the suns chances last year and the same should happen to the celtics (although I think the whole rule should be changed).

here is the video of garnett

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2bh6u8_VW8

first 20 secs, he is being held back and pushes the ref off of him

lol. cmon man. you call that a shove? he just tried to get out of it. if you want to nitpick then ok go ahead.

i dont have the same gripe as you regarding the rule though. i expect the league to get smarter about things, it shows progress that they didnt make a mess this time or do you expect them to ruin every game because they ruined the first one?

should be every time or no time...they didnt get smarter, or they would have changed the rule in the offseason. The Bottom Line is that the rule was not changed, the players were not suspended despite breaking the rule and it comes off as a gross double standard and yet another reason the nba is ****ing rigged. No secret Stern wants the celtics in the finals...and its just shitty for the Suns because they got screwed last year in a series for doing the same shit. David Stern is a pos

When are you going to realize that the Suns are SOFT and have NO chance any year?

what my comment has to do with the celtics i do not know, but nonetheless this is my take on your standpoint

Garnett is a classy guy who has a good relationship with those refs, the NBA, other players and the community. You are essentially comparing Amare and Kevin. Garnett has clout and you may be right that this is what is all about, but to say because Stern didn't suspend anyone that the actual game is rigged is a fallacy. They ARE mutually exclusive. The game is still played. To prove that it is not rigged in the manner you say it is.......watch the SPURS win it all AGAIN. That flies in the face of the LA, Boston matchup conspiracy theory you are kicking right now.

i disagree, for a rule to be fair it has to be administered with a objectivity and judgement. Intent should always be considered when issuing a penalty or suspension. thats just me.

you are all pissed off and bitter so i dont expect you to agree or even be rational, so i'll just disagree. good luck to your lakers.

no its not just me...its in fact everyone outside of the boston area. Diaw took one step off of the bench...ONE STEP and got suspended. There is nothing you can say that can justify not having the celtics suspended for the exact same violation. You're definition of rational is mine saying that Stern wants the celts in the finals...where was this rationality last year when the suns lost 2 of their best players for the exact same thing? Stern just magically gained this insight over night? Please...he didn't change the rule in the offseason, he shouldn't be allowed to diverge from the rule just because he wants to now

every time I've seen the Spurs win a playoff game, they have gotten at least 5 calls their way, usually much more.

NBA is a ****in joke. They make their money off of superstars. They found this out with Michael Jordan. MJ was a freak and nobody is ever going to compare to him, so they find guys that are already getting a little attention and they give them free reign on the court. If you don't agree with me, then tell me how Lebron was ever in the Finals last year?

The East stunk last year. They beat the Wiz and the Old ass Pistons, then they were run out of the gym against the Spurs.Thats how they made it to The Finals.

the strongest argument i could make about conspriacy in these playoffs was how the pistons absolutely gave away 2 of their games, didn't even make a serious effort. that shit is what makes me remember why to stay away from betting much on the NBA
