Question, please help!

Been capping games the same way for several years and has remained consistent; but have been playing all games for the same amount of units.

Now for those following I have tried changing units:

(#1)First thing I do is come up with a margin of victory for the teams playing. Then it could fall into several catagories: (#2)First I have the underdog winning SU. (#3) Second I have the favorite winning by less than 2. (#4) #1 minus the line for the game = diff of 4. (#5) Analyses of winning %, home court ratings advantage etc.

Now for the question:

What I have done, now is that if it falls into 2 catagories should I play 2 units as opposed to one. 3 catagories for 3 units etc. Overall record as of Dec 11. 171-104-5. 1 cat: 73-54-0; 2 cat: 51-30-5; 3 cat 32-16-0; 4 cat 15-4-0.

Yes it looks like I should play according to this, but I think I'm breaking it down to much. Because I have broken down records for favorites, underdogs @ home/away. Does anyone think so? Examples:

Last Night:
NJ @ Sac -5.5, Pho -7.5 @ Mil

(#1) MOV Kings by 8; Suns by 8.5
Only tightener they fell into.
MOV record alone: 73-54-0
For Favorites: 47-30-0
Home Fav (Kings): 30-18-0
Away Fav (Suns): 17-12-0
As I mentioned, I liked the Kings more.

Play Kings at 1 unit or 2?

Now a confusing one: 1/21/08
Bos -8.5 @ NY

(#1) MOV Celtics by 14.
Tighteners:
MOV: 73-54-0
Away Fav: 30-18-0
(#4) Diff of 5.5: 45-25-2 (Anytime this tightener fits into situation)
(#5) 63-28-3 (Anytime this tightener fits into situation)
(#1,4,5 together) 11-6-0
all looks good for Boston, until I broke it down more.
(#1,4,5,) away fav: 2-3-0

Did I get lucky playing Boston for 3 units or should I have lowered units or should I have not played them. Overall % was favorable towards Boston.

Any input would be appreciated.

After working a game, it will fit into one or several tighteners listed below:
NBA ONLY:

#1 = Margin of Victory, MOV (Base Factor)
#2 = MOV shows Underdog winning SU
#3 = MOV for Favorite is 2pts or less
#4 = MOV minus game Line = Difference of 4+
#5 = Analyses of win %, home court rating advantage, B2B games, trends etc.

Records where the above tighteners fit into a game.
#1 = 189-123-6
#2 = 30-16-0
#3 = 27-10-0
#4 = 47-30-2
#5 = 68-33-3
#5 = 13-12-0 when pick is opposite of #1.

Will try to break them down more when posting picks, as far as records as Favorite, Underdog, Home/Away.

# of Tighteners included in game:
1* = 84-64-1
2* = 57-33-5
3* = 35-20-0
4* = 16-06-0
