Raptors acquire Marion from Heat

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to send Jermaine O'Neal and Jamario Moon to the Miami Heat in exchange for Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher.

The deal is pending league approval, according to sources, and if approved, would be announced later Friday afternoon.

this is a great trade for my boys. Gotta hand it to BC. He did it. Well have a great player in Marion until the end of the year and then hes gone.We get 18 mill to work with this summer and that will be used on a super star player, a young stud. This will entice bosh to stay hopefully. I was expecting One eyed Willie ( Will Solomon) to get traded. He was more of a combo guard who doesn't know his role on this team and I am surprised they gave up on jamario Moon. I guess Moon will still get his 3 year 10 million dollar contract after this season. But I would rather have him on board then Banks. We will see. I love this trade for my Raps.

I like this trade, O'Neal quickly wore out his welcome in Toronto, this was a big trade for Toronto in the offseason, it had some promise, but J.O isnt the same J.O he was a while back when he was an all-star he can still play, but hes injury prone and his legs are almost done. Moon is a great athelete but he makes bad decisions on the court, he takes alot of bad shots, and has to realize he is not a 3pt shooter. Not sure what were getting in Banks and dont think im too happy with his $4.6/m a year sallary, but am very happy in aqquiring Marion, i think he will help this team out big time. Overall job well done B.C.

Banks is awful but the Heat knew they could dump him with Marion. It's a win/win for both teams

It gives the Heat a post player but really clears out cap space for the big 2010. It allows them to give more playing time to Beasley as well

I like Marion, he just did not fit well in Miami but allowed the Heat to dump Shaq at the right time

I think the trade helps both teams

Good trade for both teams. Raptors dump the Jermaine experiment and get some cap flexibility at the end of the year. I like Marion, but his best fit is somewhere he can play the 4, where he can outrun and quick other 4s. With him at the 3, he becomes a liability as he isn't going to get this own shot and his defense is suspect at times. Heat dump Marion who they weren't going to re-sign and still get cap flexibility and a big in Jermaine. Jermaine is injury prone, but he doesn't have to be a star in Miami....nice move by both teams.

Heat comes off better in this trade IMO, J.O.could help right away, while Marion will be lost in Toronto.

J.O. would be more comfortable playing along side Wade and Beasley.
