Lightbulb Rose vs. Westbrook

Rose vs. Westbrook

Not sure if any of you caught the article on the Rose/Westbrook comparison but the numbers are interesting. Not taking anything away from Rose - just noticing that Westbrook numbers are as good

PPG
Rose - 24.9
Westbrook - 22.2

Assists
Rose - 7.8
Westbrook - 8.3

FG%
Rose - 44%
Westbrook - 44%

3PT %
Rose - 34%
Westbrook - 33%

Rebounds
Rose - 4.2
Westbrook - 4.4

Turnovers
Rose - 3.4
Westbrook - 3.9

Steals
Rose - 1.1
Westbrook - 1.9

True Shooting %
Rose - 23.3
Westbrook - 23.7

Record of Team
Rose - 51-19
Westbrook - 46-24

(Lebron and Wade's are as good or better too but that's another debate)

the main difference is Rose is the #1 option on his team and can fully dictate the offense, while Westbrook has Durant which takes away how good he really is...

Two things hurt Westbrook, plays in OKC & he's the 2nd option behind Durant. If had his own team like Rose or played in a bigger market he'd be in the same discussion.

They are also best buddies, train together in LA. I don't know how it would work out, but Rose stated he,, Westbrook and Love would be teammates . If so, obviously not in OK City or Minny

Heard a debate about this. They were comparing Rose to AI & said he'd never win a championship!! Rose is the hands down MVP!!

If Durant was a teammate of Rose, would thta open the floor for him to get more everything?

Better choice than Beasely

You also gotta take into account the different styles of offense, OKC is a much higher scoring team and easily gets into the 100's while the Bulls like to keep the games under 100

The one thing I SEE, in each game of the Bulls I watch, are the double and sometimes triple teams Rose faces. If he had Durant, that would not happen, at least not as often. He is also a monster closing out games. i.e. against Milwaukee, he either scored or assisted on each of the last 16 points the Bulls scored

I do think Rose deserves the mvp as the leader of the #1 team in the eastern conference, but another thing to throw out there is that Westbrook does it against better competition.

Rose plays 52 games against the east where 10 of the 15 teams are at .500 or below.

Westbrook plays that same amount of games against teams where it is only 6 teams at .500 or below.

The east has 4 great teams and the rest are crap, the west has so much more depth and tougher games on a daily basis.

The difference is that Westbrook is completely under the radar because he has Durant.

Just an add on to show the difference in conferences.

West has 12 teams that are .500 or better vs. the east. The east has 5 vs the west.
