Snipes NBA Tuesday! - Thank you Vegas?
Hey everyone...hoping to really cash in today as I got some bills to pay and when you don't manage your money right and blow it on unnecessary wants, it comes back to bite you in the ass. Either way, I got two for today that I really like. As I stated on Sunday, I won't be posting small plays since I tend to not do well on them and I will only post plays that are *10+.
Lets get started... Atlanta Hawks @ Toronto Raptors. Is this a gift? Yeah, Atlanta sucks on the road, but for god sake...a pick em against the Raptors? I was expecting -3, or -4.This could be a public heavy bet in a few hours or by the afternoon, but I don't care. I will not pass up on the Atlanta Hawks in this situation in a million years. Atlanta comprises of a team that runs, has an EXCELLENT offensive back court and a team that plays good defense. Toronto comprises of a great team on paper and that's where it ends. ON paper...the teams are similar: PG: Bibby and Calderon - 2 guards that run the offense well, shoot the killer 3, and play no defense. SG: Joe Johnson vs Shawn Marion or Jason Kapono: Joe owns both, but Marion can hold his own and D up Joe. SF: Maurice Evans vs Kapono: Mostly a Wash - both 3 point shooters, and although Kapono is much better, he's been cold this year and also Maurice can run on the break and finish. PF: Josh Smith vs Bargnani: Bargnani is a better offensive player, and he's even a decent man defender against bigger guy. Josh is great at finishing, good at rebounds and swatting shots. Also, his man D is spectacular, especially against big men who play like wussies like Bargs on the perimeter. C: Horford vs Bosh - Bosh is great, Horford is good. Horford can D up Bosh pretty well and this matchup doesn't bother me much. Atlanta bench and Raptors bench is basically a wash as well although I'd give the advantage to Atlanta cz Raptors won't be able to stop Flip Murray. Anyways, on paper both teams are similar. However, in my opinion Smith and Horford matchup against Bargs and Bosh better than anyone in the league. It's just PERFECT. I expect both of them to bring a huge game defensively. Toronto is going to get manhandled by Atlanta's back court. They will have no answer for all the 3's or Joe Johnson. Flip off the bench will only create bigger problems Can't pass this one up, even if it is a trap: *12 Atlanta Hawks @ Toronto Raptors PK Next game: New Orleans @ Miami I love the Hornets in this position. Before the lines even came out I wanted to jump on the Hornets. I was not expecting them to be given 4 points against the inconsistent Heat, but hey, I'll take it. The New Orleans Hornets are fighting for playoff position even though they have clinched. In the Western conference you can end up having home court, or end up 8th. New Orleans would love to gain higher ground on the Jazz and perhaps sneak up on the teams ahead of them. With Manu out, I'm sure Hornets feel confident going up against any team (except my Lakers of course ). Miami has clinched and would love to get home court also. However, they face an angry Hornets team that is coming off a huge loss to the Utah Jazz. I look for Hornets to bounce back and win straight up this game. Too many matchup problems for the Heat in this one I think. First of, good luck stopping the West and Paul pick & roll with Chalmers and Haslem..lol. Both those guys will have a field day. On top of that, you have a Miami bench that relies on 3pt shooting to stay in games and win games. Yeah well, most teams know that, and if they clank their 3's they stand no chance. Wade...well he could go off for all I care, but I think Butler/Wright are athletic enough to keep up with him and make him take contested jumpers.I Love the Hornets in this one..I think they win straight up near the end of the game, but I'm obviously taking the points. *10 New Orleans Hornets +4 BOL everyone!
