Sources: Knicks to talk to Johnson

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/n...=ESPNHeadlines

I don't get why teams have so much interest in Joe Johnson. The guy is a solid player, but no way in hell would I tie up $100 million for him. Might be the worst $100 million spent since the Magic signed Rashard Lewis. Johnson isn't a proven leader and hasn't really won shit in the league. Guy is arrogant and a choker, IMO. Wait, he'd fit right in with the Knicks........

first of all, Joe Johnson isn't worth 100 mill, but only about 3 guys are... however, there is no way you can compare him to Rashard Lewis... Johnson would be the best player on at least half of the teams in the NBA, and the Knicks are smart to go after him... going after him means they understand they are not going to get Lebron or Wade or Bosh, and it means they aren't stupid enough to go after Amare... best move for NY is to grab JJ this year, and hope they can get Melo next year... Johnson and Melo make for a strong nucleus for the next 4 to 6 years...

Knicks aint getting Melo, he will stay in Denver. Going after Johnson is stupid. The guys won't get them wins or put fans in the seats, which makes spending 100 mill on him just as dumb as spending it on Lewis.

they shouldn't spend 100 mill on JJ, and they might not have to... regardless, Joe Johnson is a stud, and this is the best option for the Knicks... you'll just have to wait and see for yourself... JJ is one of about 5 players in the NBA that has no weakness in their game... incredible ball-handler, shooter, scorer and a solid defender... stupid people blamed him for the Hawks folding, but smart people knew that team's problems had nothing to do with Johnson (those people also knew that series would be a sweep!)...

oh? you mean the one game i got wrong and now most of the time i'm wrong?

let's not forget that i have predicted Lebron is going to the Bulls, that i made that prediction not only before the Hinrich deal, but more than two months ago, while Cleveland was still playing playoff games...

so you might want to just stay tuned... Joe Johnson is one of the most well-rounded players in the NBA... if you don't get that, you don't get the NBA...

people could say the same thing about Lebron the way he played in the Celtics series... i personally think that is an over-rated angle, which falls as much or more on the coach as anything...

JJ played for one of the worst coaches in the NBA the past few seasons... put him with a good coach and you'll see a different player... not that Mike D'Antoni is a great coach... but he is a lot better than Woodson, at least...
