Truth is that home court in NBA is worth 4-5 points. Put that on the Miami Boston game it tells you that if these two were playing on a neutral court, the line would be Miami -4. That seems reasonable to me. I mean Miami has the "big three" but Boston has their own "big three" as well as a big three or four more. Not to mention the big D. I agree the talent level between the teams makes that four point line rather accurate. With this being said it was not a shock to me the way the line was set. What was shocking to me is the way the game is being bet. If you go to any consensus website on the internet (which is a mistake in the first place ) you see that the NUMBER OF BETS, not the amount of money is roughly 50/50 give or take a percent either way. However, as of 3:45pm EST time down here, the book system read that the money is split 60.4/39.6 in favor of Boston. Since open on the 23rd of October there has been a total of $97,244 bet on Boston while there has been just $63,750 bet on the Miami Heat ATS. However, the betting amounts have been in favor of Miami 52% to 48% on Boston. What this means is there has been people betting Boston for bigger money then Miami, therefore making the books root for Miami tonight. I figured this would be the exact opposite as people would get caught up in the hype surrounding the Heat. However, people have seen this line set at Boston -1 and thrown all common sense out the window and have jumped on the theroy that this is the sharp side of the game tonight. Personally I am glad I will be backing the heat siding with the book tonight as this is a major statement game for Miami. Reporters from Boston are saying it feels like a game in June, yet its only October. The line down here has stayed right on Boston -1 with the juice fluctuating from -110 to -120 to ev to +105 and now at -110 again which will make me ease up a little bit tonight. Although the percentages do not have a huge spread I would of loved a move to pk to show me that the Bookmaker here was completely confident taking action on Boston at -1 or lower. Heat win this one outright tonight and the Celts start off with a mark in the loss column.

I am going to wait a little longer to confirm the late plays. I am not working today as I take Tuesday and Wednesday off to get the best information for football so I rely on messages from a friend I work with. keith, i think its very improtant to know where the money is coming in and on what side. where can i find that type of information on the amount of money vs the amount of best on each side. its actually a very important aspect of the public betting. thanks buddy. i got smashed on dallas, but i had a complete different angle of the game than you did. Great info Keith. I was on the Giants as well last night.

I am playing, for small, the opposite side tonight. Going with the Celts. The information I have seen is showing public % heavily backing Mia, with most lines going from Boston -1 to Boston +2.
