Take a lesson from a real man, Lebron!

21 years old, and already more of a man than Lebron will ever be:

excerpt from the interview:

"It was picture day today at camp, what's it like knowing that you're not only one of the best players in the country, but one of the best players in the world?"

"DR: (Laughs) Don't say that, man. I'm not even near that. Hopefully, one day I will be that person, but right now I'm just trying to learn. It's my third year playing in the NBA. If anything, I'm just trying to get my feet wet a little bit and I guess continue to do good."

"Yeah, but you're being too modest. I know you know that you are on the US National team and understand [what that represents] …"

"DR: Yeah, but I'm a candidate for it. I'm not on it yet. I'm a candidate for it and I'm happy and my family's happy, so it makes me feel good."

read the interview, douchebag! i'm not talking about leaving, i'm talking about humility and respect... at no point in Lebron's career has he ever talked about himself with any level of humility... and it isn't about where he went... it is about HOW he went out!

Rose is a guy who gets it... Lebron does not! but i am not remotely surprised to find that you don't, either...

rose and lebron not really comparable. Before Lebron ever got drafted ppl were talking about how great he was going to be and that he could be better than MJ.

plus as Rose says he is three years in so we will see if things change as time goes on.

this is true! time will tell, but from what i have seen, Rose has his head on right, and clearly Lebron does not...

also, before people keep on thinking this article is all about Rose staying in Chicago, it is not... that's just the title (*cough* Bisket)...

the reason i linked it is so you can read his comments and see what kind of guy he is, as compared to Lebron, who says things like: "This fall i'm taking my talents to South Beach"... or "When i don't play well, i feel bad for myself (as opposed to the fans or his teammates)"... and other chode-like comments...

the part about staying in Chicago was just one very small part of the interview... guess people don't like to read...

and Link... i presume you are saying it's society's fault Lebron is the way he is... and to a certain extent it is true... but come on! no matter how great everyone tells you you are... you still have a responsibility to control your own ego... isn't that basically one of life's most important tests?

no I am not saying it is society's faults. I am saying that they have different pressures and expectations. hard to sit and say Lebron less of a man than Rose when they dealing with different situations.

keep in mind only read from the article what you posted in the first two replies so my response is based strictly on that dialogue.

still seems like that is just another way of saying it is society's fault... a man is still a man, regardless of how much he is propped up... i mean there are a lot of excuses that can be used to "blame" how Lebron turned out... not the least of which is his complete lack of parenting... but that's who he is... a douchebag with no grounding in reality...

think of it this way... what has Lebron done to think he is anything special? he plays basketball... he doesn't cure diseases, or invent new technologies, or even farm a piece of land... he is an entertainer... in ancient times entertainers were looked upon with the same level of disrespect as whores and charletains... but he clearly believes he is something special in the grand scheme of things, and he is not... someone somewhere did a shitty ass job of engraining some level of reality and common sense in that clown...

if he was truly grounded in reality, no amount of praises and accolades would have made him turn out the way he has...

now, if Rose suddenly is regarded as the greatest PG of all time, and as a result of that he turns into a complete douchebag like Lebron, then i am wrong about Rose... but it looks to me like he is well-grounded, and has a good head on his shoulders, and that he isn't going to go that route...

time will tell... but as a Bulls fan, if given the choice between having Rose on that team or Lebron, it is no contest! not even close...

Shep enlighten me what he has done that makes him any less of a man than Rose. Tell me what he has to apologize for in anything he has done in the last 5 years. The guy has an ego like 95% of these other overpaid athletes in professional sports.

He didn't owe the city of Cleveland or the state of Ohio shit. Does he come off as a a-hole for "The Decision" show on ESPN. Sure. People watched given the ratings so there must have been some type of market for it.

My comments are based strictly on you implying he is less of a man because he didn't want to stay in Cleveland and is self proclaimed "King" with an ego compared to how Rose handles it. My point is no one outside of Chicago (or Bulls fans) gives a shit if Rose wins an NBA title.

The funny part is before he went to Miami you were convinced he was going to Chicago and were lining up trophies. Now he chose elsewhere and all you do is rip the guy. All anyone needs to know about Rose is that the free agent he wanted to play with was Joe Johnson.
