Torch has been officially passed!

when Derrick Rose was drafted, i predicted he would be the best PG in the league by the end of his 3rd season, and would eventually redefine the position, and put himself on a list with only one other name on it (Magic Johnson) as the best of the best to ever play the position...

the torch has officially been passed, as should be clear to everyone by now! Derron Williams can't stand on the same court as Derrick Rose without getting lost in his Rose's shadow...

Derrick Rose is the undisputed king of the Point Guards in the NBA! it is not debatable...

when a team is coming off two straight road losses and are in the hunt for a top spot in their conference, it is more than just a Feb tilt

Rose being mentioned in top 5 for MVP. Are C P or DW?

IMO Chris Paul has been forgotten because of the injury.....Rose still needs to improve his defense even more and his outside shooting....he has gotten better at both but still needs more growth..

Rose is going to be one of the best but to compare him to Magic Johnson at this point seems laughable and weakens your arguement. Magic did it for a few more years. He's a top 5 point guard right now but let's cool the hall of fame talk just yet.

CP is the best point guard in the league. He's shooting better % from the field, better ft %, more assists, fewer turnovers and more steals in a tougher conference. End of discussion

Definitely think Rose is top 5, along with Rondo, Williams, Paul, and Nash or Westbrook, but its way early to give him the crown. Definitely too early to compare him to Magic. Give the kid 5-8 years before you start comparing him to Magic.

IMO, Rondo isn't in the discussion, until Rose has the chance to play with 3 HOFers.

Coach K chose Rose over Rondo and Rondo quit the team rather than compete and Rose got the nod in the All Star game

But no comparison to Magic at this point
