WCO's NBA Friday 1/16 GOM!

Haven't been posting much of anything lately but still playing the NBA as usual this season and doing decent. I have been looking at this game since early last night and not going to waste anymore time getting it in as I feel the line will move but not in my favor. My game of the month:

*6 -- New York Knicks @ Washington Wizards -2½ (-110)

I know conventional wisdom tells most who casually follow the NBA that the Knicks are bad, and believe me, I'm not saying they're good, but Washington minus Gilbert Arenas is plain God awful and shouldn't be favored against ANYONE other than maybe the Thunder.

Early money is on the Knicks and despite this, the line has climbed a point? Not adding up. Why is a team who is just 1-6 ATS on Friday nights and 1-9 ATS against Atlantic Division teams LAYING 2½, especially with Arenas, Haywood and Stevenson all out?! They are a 7-31 team laying points to a 15-22 team?

Wizards have not covered in their last 5 while the Knicks have covered in 3 of their last 4, so while I never solely base anything on this, the "due factor" is there. Bucking the trends mentioned above as well as the fact that the Wizards are just 1-8 ATS this season as favorites. I'll be on Washington tonight fellas,

Also playing one more small:

*1 -- Orlando Magic +4 (-110) @ Los Angeles Lakers

I know Orlando is legit (for an Eastern Conference team), but why would Kobe and the Lakers only be 4 point favorites at home, especially coming off the tough loss on the road in San Antonio? Tough to bet against my guy, but I think the game comes down to the final possession tonight.

I like the Wizards as well. NY papers are full of articles about how the Knicks have already beaten the Wiz twice, and how this is the last of their "gimme" games for awhile.
