Why are there so many low scoring Quarters?
I'v noticed a huge increase in low scoring quarters this season..... i dont know if the NBA has become more defensive and less offensive but i can't remember the last season i'v seen so many low scoring quarters...... i havn't counted the below 20 point quarters this season compared to recent seasons since say 2000 but it seems that we are seeing more often then ever good teams shooting very shitty field goal %'s against poor defensive teams and vise versa against good offensive teams...... Since january 2nd here are the low scoring quarters i'v found very abnormal for the teams in general..
Atlanta @ cleveland 34 point 2nd Quarter memphis @ indiana 28 point 4th Quarter Portland @ minnesota 32 point 4TH Quarter San Antonio @ denver 35 point 1st Quarter Boston @ Detroit 34 point 1st Quarter And then single team totals per quarter... since january 2nd Cleveland 15 Point Second Quarter Memphis 17 point 2nd Quarter Orlando 15 Point 2ND Quarter & 18 Point 4th Quarter in Same game.... Houston 16 point 1ST Quarter New York 17 Point 2nd Quarter Minnesota 18 point 1st Quarter & 17 point 4th quarter Golden State 14 point 4rd Quarter L.A. Clippers 16 point 1st Quarter and 17 point 3rd Quarter Portland 15 point 4th Quarter... all 12 of these low scoring quarters were in one night of games on january 2nd then on january 3rd just 3 games and we get Phoenix 13 point 1st Quarter Seattle 12 point 2nd Quarter San Antonio 15 point 1ST Quarter.... all in one night in just 3 games playing.... and so on and so on..... n just 4 days of basketball we have a ton of high ranking ppg teams scoring crazy low point quarters........And killing any chances at coverning the totals on the "OVER" This might be somekind of point drought but it really has been killing my totals and untill i see somekind of turn around, i suggest thinking twice about playing totals till you see a matcup that hasn't been producing these below average quarters consistantly .......Someone is making alot of money on these point droughts and i know it isn't me so untill these teams start producing at or above their basic averages per game any bets on totals is a coin toss in my opinion because you can see a high scoring teams like golden state, phoenix, denver and orlando hit a wall any quarter and put up a mere "13 to 18" point total, which can crush your total........ Most of my "point totals" losses have come from crazy " 1 quarter droughts" that squash me like a bug and after a few weeks of this it is starting to become not only a trend but very annoying........

I know a few of the high scoring teams like PHX said they know it is a long season, last year around playoff time many of there starters & bench were just burned out. I think some teams are taking it easy and not going balls out due to this. In The case of the Dallas Dirk may be a little burned out from playing in a off season basketball league in Germany. San Antonio is becoming a more defensive team. We all know Boston is a huge defensive team. CLE can be on or off. Some injuries have taken its toll on some teams as well. When you got one or two players two step up in a injury situations they are going to be tired after a few games. Also when injuried players come back they need time two get back into the mix of things. I have noticed some of the same like NYN Scoring a 59 Pt game & one team did have a 11 Pt. QTR. Maybe start capping unders till it all turns around.

may i suggest getting into the ebb and flow and wagering 2h totals.
it can be a real money-maker if you get good at it. back in the golden age, it was my #2 after MLB as far as profitability. this is the perfect time to be playing, too. |
