The Sydney Kings and more importantly the NBL could be in for a massive boost with former NBA star Allen Iverson making noises he wants to end his career in Australia.

Iverson, an 11-time NBA All-Star and four-time leading pointscorer, currently plies his trade in the second-tier Eurocup with Turkish side Besiktas on a two-year $4 million deal.

The former superstar, nicknamed The Answer, said on Twitter he was keen to head to the Harbour city after requests from Sydney basketball icon Rodney Overby.

"I hear Sydney is a real good city to live in. my boy Rodney O asked me to come over. I am comin!"

But Kings fans should temper their excitement with AI unlikely to pull Sydney out of their horrendous 1-10 record in their return season, just yet.

"I am very happy here in Istanbul, but if I don't return to the NBA I am considering a move to Australia after my two-year contract is up."

We'll believe it when we see it.
