Liking SD to upset OAKtown this afternoon. Just don't see the playoffs in the Raiders cards for 2011...

TICKET 1:
RIVERS OV (Raiders pass def is atrocious and Rivers OBVIOUS passion for football will push him to fight tooth-and-nail to knock out division rival OAK today. This number should come down to a few +/- either way seeing as OAK is also weak vs the run)
PALMER UN (Vs a stalwart SD pass def, Palmer was only able to complete 14 passes last game vs the Chargers. Carson's had more time to work his way into the offence now, true. However, seeing as SD is so weak vs the run look for OAK to rack up most of their yardage via the rush today)
PASS OV (Playoff implications are huge for OAK, who will claw for a win today. However, nothing would please SD more than to end a division rivals chance at a playoff berth. Capable weapons in the passing game for both sides + QBs who can sling the ball downfield + two teams who love to throw deep but are less than adept at covering the deep pass = OV)
RUSH OV (SD weak run def should allow a big run from Raider RB Bush at some point today. It also helps RB Ryan Matthews is a decent runner himself for SD and OAK sports the worst rating in the NFL on defence for runs 20+)

TICKET 2:
SACKS OV (Palmer will most likely fall behind and look to big passing scores to carry his team back into contention. Vs a SD defence ranking #10 in the NFL in pass defence, look for Carson to search too long and take some late hits pushing this number OV. On the other side of the ball, Raiders rank 9th in the league in sacks and will be pushing for a win this afternoon)
PTR OV (Chargers rank #1 in the NFL in punt return yards and OAK is middle of the pack. With the playoffs on the line for OAK in a tense division game vs a capable SD defence, kicks should be the word of the day in Raider-country this afternoon)
FGM OV (In a game loaded with playoff implications vs a division rival who sports a more than capable defence, look for OAK K Janikowski to go for a big shot at some point today. If not, Kaeding is no slouch for the Chargers either)
2ND HALF UN (Both teams prefer to score points early on vs their competition. I imagine most of this game's offence will come early from either side then, as common place for both clubs, whoever's in the lead will shore up their defensive for the latter half of the game)

Good luck out there today. E.L.E.

Thanks ABB and Philly for the work with the chart and info

I think OAK wins the game so I'm leaning towards Bush going Ova on a weak rush def and with long rush going ova in most OAK games I will take that as a correlation bet, leaning towards fgm ova and ptr ova

I'm on the same page with your keys. I'm not sure who wins the game, but I think both teams try hard through the air. I trust Rivers to hit this number, and I think Palmer will have to continue to throw all game as well. Bush and Palmer over can happen.

Thanks once again for all the summarized info ABB and Philly!

Not sure if this affects anyone's picks but I just read this and thought yooz should know

Quote:

Ryan Mathews (calf) is inactive for the Chargers' season finale in Week 17.
Mike Tolbert will get the start. The 12th overall pick in the 2010 draft, Mathews wraps up his breakout second season with 1,091 yards on 222 carries (4.91 YPC) and 50 receptions. Tolbert was a mere change-of-pace back with Mathews at full strength this season. The main obstacle for Mathews has continued to be health; he was often banged up in 2011.

Rivers/Gates lookin' mucho goodo yes?
